Well, it’s been more than a minute since I last checked in with a weekly update. Life’s been busy but good – blogging has just taken a backseat. The workouts have pretty much been on autopilot but thanks to the Run Happy Team, I finally have at least one fall race on the horizon so in the coming weeks that will change. But for now, it was a pretty basic week…here’s a quick peek into how this week in fitness played out.
A Fall Race on the Horizon
Monday — Full Body Strength & Core
Tuesday — 3 miles & Core
Wednesday — Rest day
Thursday — 4 miles and a much-needed sports massage
Friday — 2-mile walk, Core & Upper Body Strength
Saturday — 2-mile walk, Full Body Strength & Core
Sunday — 6 miles & Hip mobility work
Medtronic TC 10 Mile
So thanks to the Brooks Run Happy Team, I was gifted an entry to the Medtronic TC 10 Mile which is part of the Twin Cities Marathon race weekend. I make no secret of my love for 10M races and this one has a reputation to be a good one! I was excited to be able to skip the lottery (yes it’s that popular) and so now I’ve got at least one fall race to look forward to!
How was your week? Any Fall race plans?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
Ooh, that 10-mile race in Minnesota sounds fun! I’ve heard so many great things about that race weekend. Looks like a great consistent week, Michelle. Nicely done!
Thanks Kim 🙂
Nice score on the 10 mile race! I ran the Twin Cities Marathon and I well remember the 10-miler. That’s a popular race! Nice week Michelle!
This one was always on my radar but I never got my act together in time to enter the lottery so nice to now have the chance!
Oh, wow, I’ve heard great things about that race! And you know 10Ms are my favorite! Sounds like a great event to do with Brooks!
I’ve heard such good things too – looking forward to it!
10 milers are my favorite distances as well. Sounds like a fun one to train for
It’s such a great distance – I wish there were more of them!
Oh, I love that you are doing that race! That is my fave distance too. I’ve never been to Minneapolis.
I’ve never been to Minneapolis either – should be fun!
Hooray! Delighted to hear this… 10 milers are the best – a challenge but not 13.1!
You know I have a BIG one – Nov 5 – 26.2 in NYC!!
You definitely have a big one coming up! I’m excited for you!
that is a nice distance, isn’t it. We don’t get many of those here. No races on the horizon but I think I will sign up for the Birmingham Half in May 2024 as when my physio said, “So what are we aiming for, getting to 5k?” I heard myself say, “Well, I want to run another marathon at some point” …!
10 milers are fairly scarce around here too – they seem so popular with folks so I cannot figure out why RD don’t embrace them more.
I love that you’re thinking of another marathon 🙂
Good to see you back! I know it can be hard to keep up with everything, and blogging can definitely fall by the wayside.
Congratulations on the race!
Thanks Jenn!
Totally understand about blogging taking a backseat, lol.
That’s exciting that you have a Fall race on the schedule!
I really wanted to have something to shoot for this fall – and the added bonus is a new city to check out!
Sweet on getting that entry! I think I might have to take a pass on racing completely this year, but we’ll see, there’s still half a year to go.
Would you believe I’ve never run a 10 mile race? It seems like a great distance!
You’ve had a lot on your plate…but there’s still time if you decide you want to run something.
10 miles is just the best. I wish there were more. Going to keep this one on my radar
I wish there were more too! I think this is one of the few “marathon weekends” that features a 10M instead of a half.
How fun to have the 10-mile race to look forward to this fall. Sounds like it must be a good one since it’s so popular.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about this race weekend so I’m looking forward to it!
That race sounds fun! It’s good to have something scheduled to give some shape to your training. I don’t have anything planned until February, but I’ll have to start training for it in September. Until then I’m doing my own thing!
It’s nice to have a break from training – especially when it’s so hot in Florida!
Busy Bee! I know the feeling!
10 Mile races I think are my favorite – you still have to train but you’re never so knackered after 10 miles as you would be after a Half or a Full marathon! N
Exactly – I can train without it feeling like a job!
oh my gosh you’re going to be in my home city without me! Please let me know if I can help with any travel questions! The TC 10 mile is a BLAST. The finish line at the capitol is one of my favorites. Enjoy!
Thanks Jessie! I’ll be sure to check in with you on hotel and other stuff 🙂
