Wrapping up another busy week in what has been a busy month and I’m still paddling (continuing last week’s duck theme). I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down, so here’s a quick peek at this week’s workouts.
Week 20 – Still Paddling
Monday — 2.5-mile Walk, 30-min Full-body Strength, and Stretch
Tuesday — 2.5-mile Walk & Core
Wednesday — 4-mile Run & Stretch
Thursday — Peloton Bike, Yoga & 1-mile walk
Friday — 4-mile Run & Stretch
Saturday — 2-mile Walk, Core & Upper Body Strength via a couple of hours of yardwork
Sunday — 5-mile Run, & Stretch. Despite heading out early, it was already in the upper 60s when I started and over 80 degrees when I finished. My husband captured this photo right after I finished and I think it tells you all you need to know about the run.
The week ahead promises to be the first quiet one of the month, which is perfect timing since it’s race week! The Run to Remember 5-miler is next Sunday so let the weather stalking begin 😉
Are you dealing with sudden summer-like temps? Any races on the horizon?
Our sudden summer temps (and humidity) arrived the previous week, only to abruptly take a hike a couple days ago. It’s looking to be cool this next week with a gradual climb back to the seasonal stuff by the weekend. I’m glad to hear things are slowing down for you, in terms of all the obligations you had on your plate recently. Fingers crossed for optimal weather for your race!
Thanks Kim – so far the early forecast looks pretty good.
Those first runs in summer weather are tough! I hope the break in the weather lasts through next weekend. Glad work will be quieter for you this week.
Thanks Coco, I’m really looking forward to some quieter days.
Well, I’m hoping for cooler weather for your race! The weather this time of year is tough- it’s hard to run in the heat when you’re not acclimated yet. Glad you have an easier week coming up.
I appreciate the cool weather wishes 🙂
Your husband captured a great photo, and yes, that photo says it all. I laughed at, “let the weather stalking begin” because it’s so true. Now I do it for cycling as well as running (and gardening).

It is funny how much time we all spend on the weather apps 😉
the weather was rough here the past few days. I hope things calm down for you a bit and you have a great race next weekend
I think a lot of us have had a shock of summer weather recently – I hope Spring makes a return!
Yes a race today. Hope you have cooler weather for yours. And you have a calm week.
I can only imagine how hard your race conditions were!
Awesome that you finally have a good week & it’s right in sync with your race. I hope you have a good one!
Nice photo of the Blue Heron!
I’m grateful for the timing!
This spring has been all over the place weather wise! We had 95 degree heat and this morning we were back in the 30s. Whiplash for sure! Fingers crossed your weather moderates in time for your race!
This has really been one of the wackier streaks of weather we’ve been having. Makes me wonder what the summer will be like.
I think your photos from Sunday’s run says it all – that’s exactly how I felt about the heat this weekend. I’m SO glad that the temps this week are a little more manageable.
It’s amazing how quickly things changed on Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays this way for a while.
It looks like our weather is better, and I hope the same for you this coming weekend. Good luck navigating the busy!

Thanks Cari 🙂
I almost melted on this morning’s run. it was terrible. Whyyyyy?
I cannot even imagine what the humidity must be like in Florida!
To my body and the gym’s cooling systems, the weather suddenly reached summer temperatures last week. Is summer supposed to feel this sweaty?

I feel like summer gets harder and harder to tolerate each year…sigh.
Love your heron! And that photo your husband took, we all need to remember we all feel like that from time to time!
