Yes, I know that I’ve probably just jinxed myself with the title of this post! But, this was the first week where we finally strung together a few days of consistent Spring weather which was a nice boost to my #optoutside streak.
Week 15 – Finally Feels Like Spring
Monday — 3-mile recovery run & Stretch. I woke up feeling every bit of Sunday’s 8 miler. The thought of running more was just so unappealing so I pushed my run to after work. Late-day sunshine and 60s made for a nice run.
Tuesday — 1.5-mile walk, otherwise a rest day.
Wednesday — 3.1-mile run & Stretch. A midday 5K, 72 degrees, and negative splits!
Thursday — Peloton ride, Upper Body Strength, 1.5-mile walk
Friday — 4-mile run, Core & Stretch
Saturday — 2-mile walk & Yoga. So much fun volunteering at the Boston Marathon Expo! My assignment was “Expo Ambassador” which basically means I greeted runners and answered questions/provided directions as needed. I got to chat with runners from all over and even got to catch up with Jennifer (runs4dounuts on IG)! My legs were really feeling it by the end of my volunteer shift – 5 hours is a long time to be on your feet. I kept my #optoutside streak going with a walk and some yoga.
Sunday — 6-mile run, Core & Stretch
My schedule was full and hectic this week so I’m pleased I was able to get all of my runs done. The running itself has been a bit all over the place and I’ll admit I’m not quite where I want to be with 6 weeks to go until the Run to Remember. My hip flexor continues to be an on-again-off-again issue so I am catching up with Coach Marc this week to talk through options.
Happy Easter and Passover to all who celebrate!
How was your week? Are you enjoying Spring temps?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down.
We’ve had a bit of spring and a bit of summer this week, and are back to spring for now.
Volunteering at the Boston expo sounds like a great experience — but exhausting for sure.
Glad you were able to get some runs in this week!
Volunteering at Boston is always so much fun!
I bet it was really fun to work at the expo! Some days I feel the effects of my runs and some days not. Our weather was nuts last week but looks like we are back to spring again for a few days. Happy Easter and have a great week
The weather really has been so unpredictable – I’m really hoping we’ve finally settled into spring. I’m always afraid we’re going to skip spring and just jump into summer temps. Have a great week!
I would love to volunteer at Boston! So cool! I’ll be helping at the Glass City Marathon this week. It’s going to be a busy week. Happy Easter!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures recently posted…Weekly Workouts – countdown is on
You definitely have a busy week ahead! Enjoy it 🙂
I saw the title and I said she must have written this before today. We had snow flurries on and off.
So exciting to work at the Boston marathon expo.
Looks like your runs are going well.
Let’s hope spring returns.
Ha! I said I’d jinxed myself with that title! We didn’t see snow but it did get colder – thankfully it was short-lived.
My last two long runs (both 8-milers) felt tough…but I blame the weather and fatigued muscles for both. Both times, though, the recovery runs (the day following) felt amazing. So, I’m sticking with my recovery run routine…I’m glad they work for me. Oh, the marathon expo really sounds exciting! I’m glad your #optoutside streak is gong strong!!
I’ve been using recovery runs too – something I haven’t done since Chicago training. I do feel like they’re helping so I’ll be keeping them in the mix.
Please send some of that spring this way. We’ve got MORE snow in the forecast for tomorrow and I am so over it. It feels like it’ll be June here before it warms up. How fun to meet Jennifer at the expo!
I can’t believe you’ve got more snow coming! This has been such an odd spring!
Oof- standing for five hours is hard. But sounds like an amazing experience! How exciting to be in Boston this weekend.
For whatever reason my hip is better this week and I hardly did any yoga. in my case I think the yoga was aggravating it- pigeon pose especially was stretching it too aggressively. SIGH! I hope yours starts to feel better soon.
Interesting about the yoga – pigeon is a pose that I definitely find too aggressive for my hip. I’m glad yours is feeling better!
How exciting to volunteer at the expo! So fun that you were able to meet up with Jennifer – she’s such a sweetheart. I hope I can squeeze a few minutes away from work tomorrow to watch some of the Boston Marathon.
It was so fun to see Jennifer! I really do love getting the chance to volunteer.
Well, I woke up to snow, so there’s that! But it is supposed to warm up over the weekend. Looks like you got a nice volunteer gig at the marathon expo!!!
Ugh to the snow! I hope spring finally makes an appearance for you all soon!
Amazing week!
I don’t know what the weather is doing here. it’s hot, it’s cold, it’s humid, it’s storming. Who can keep up!
