It’s Friday and I’m so excited to be leaving today for parents’ weekend to visit my college boy! But before I pack up I’m making a stop at the Runfessional with Marcia.
It’s also time for another Fit Five Friday hosted by Darlene, Renee, Jenn, Zenaida, and yours truly, so let’s get started.
Spooky Runfessions
Since we’ll be traveling this weekend to visit my oldest we will basically be missing Halloween festivities. I runfess that I’m not upset about this! While I do enjoy handing out candy to little ones in their costumes, I’m not really much of a Halloween fan. There…I said it. Scary movies, blood and gore, haunted houses? Just not my favorite thing.
This weekend also marks the last couple of days of my 14-day sugar detox. The first week certainly had some ups and downs, but I really feel like I hit a groove by Saturday, and this week things have felt pretty smooth. Having said that I runfess that I cannot wait to put a little sugar in my morning coffee again! That is one thing I truly miss…that and a nice glass of wine 😉
Are you a fan of Halloween?

I’m surprised your son’s school is hosting parents’ weekend on Halloween! I wouldn’t want to be on campus in Wisconsin this weekend, lol. In fact, my oldest is heading up to visit his brother. Sounds like trouble to me.
Like you, I’m not a big Halloween fan.
I like the candy and costumes aspect of Halloween, but the blood & gore side of it is totally not my gig either. That said, I do have a small fetish with sugar skulls as of late (probably that “sugar” thing LOL…well and the artistic funk of them). Glad the sugar detox went well. Enjoy your weekend!
Have so much fun this weekend! I love FALL more than Halloween per se. I like the candy/costume aspect but not the truly scary/bloody stuff.
I do like Halloween, although I don’t like the gory movies like I used to when I was a teenager. When I was in college I won a case of champange by correctly (or almost correcting) counting the bodies in a video montage of slasher movies. 😀
Have so much fun this weekend!!!
I am not a halloween scary movie person but I do miss dressing up with the kids and giving out candy. Have a really fun weekend visiting your son!
I’m definitely a fan of Halloween, but I don’t go all out and get dressed up myself- I leave the costumes for the kids! This will be the first year where I’m not actually walking around trick-or-treating with my own kids, but I’m looking forward to giving out candy.
Have a great weekend with your son!!!
I’m not into any Halloween things – especially not costumes. There I said it. Bah Humbug 😉
I’m also not a fan of Halloween because i don’t like anything scary. The only things I really enjoy are dressing in costume and handing out candy to the kids.
I hope you have a great weekend visiting your son!
I’m with you. I put flavored creamer (instead of sugar) in my coffee. And often need a glass of wine to relax at night.
Congrats on completing the de-tox. Do think it was worth it.
Now that I have a little one, I’m starting to enjoy Halloween again, but I’m not interested in wearing a costume or anything like that! I do enjoy Halloween movies, but not the scary stuff so much!
Kudos to you on the sugar detox, I’m not sure I could last that long!
I was never a huge Halloween fan, and since it marks the one year anniversary since we put Lola to sleep . . .
I’ve done a few sugar detoxes. They’re always great but that sugar sneaks back in! Enjoy your coffee again soon. 🙂

Enjoy parents’ weekend. I’m not a huge Halloween person, but in normal times if it fell during the week I’d put a hat or headband on. This is my first Halloween run, and I’m looking forward to it. Congrats on the two weeks without sugar!
I do the cute/fun side of Halloween. I don’t need the bloody, violent, or scary stuff. My brain is already out of control without it.
I hope you had fun!
