So Summer-like weather made a return appearance this week with its sidekick Humidity in tow. As planned, the miles were low as and walking made a return to the schedule. Here’s a quick peek at my workouts this week.
Weekly Run Down – Week 41
Monday — 2.6-mile run & PT exercises. A return to the roads! How could I not run on Marathon Monday?! Oh so humid – what happened to fall?! But best of all my legs felt fresh after the week’s rest and no pain!
Tuesday — 2.5-mile walk, Core & Stretch.
Wednesday —1-mile walk, Strength for Runners, Core & Stretch. I paired a couple of the Peloton Strength for Runners classes which gave me a lot of single leg work, and left my legs feeling like jelly…but in a good way.
Thursday — 2.7-mile run & Core. I also added a foam rolling class for glutes and calves on the Peloton app – perhaps using the app will get me to break out the foam roller more often.
Friday — 3.25-mile walk & PT exercises.
Saturday — 3.1 mile-run, Core & Stretch.
Sunday — After a very fun Sat. night out with friends – great food and some adult beverages – I’m still lingering over my coffee. Fall weather seems to have finally made an appearance this morning so I plan to grab a walk and hit my yoga mat.
So nothing wildly exciting, but there was also no squawking from my hip – I call a pain-free week a win! In the forecast for the week ahead looks like fall weather will be making a welcome return so I’m looking forward to #optoutside with a slight bump up in my run miles and more walking.
How was your week? Does it feel like fall where you are?

A week of pain-free running is definitely something to celebrate! I was shocked at how humid (and hot) it was yesterday. It was just icky 🙁 Today seems much better so I hope this type of weather lasts a while.
Yesterday’s weather was just bizarre. I was so happy to see the temps drop this morning – fingers crossed it stays this way!
A pain free week is a definite win! I really like the SFR classes with the 1 legged moves. Doing the foam rolling classes forces me to actually use it for the full 10 min so I keep on rolling. Have a great week ahead and enjoy your fall temps
I definitely going to try to add more of the foam rolling classes to my stacks. Have a great week!
Today if finally feels like Fall! Now, if it would EVER stop raining . . . that would be very nice. Although it hasn’t actually rained that much today.
Yes, a pain free week is always a win! Nice!
If we can string together a few nice days of real fall weather I will be ecstatic!
A pain-free week? What’s that? Just kidding. (I was pain-free except for my foot, so for me, that counts.). Glad your hip is feeling good! i hope you get in some great runs in fall weather this week- the reward for all those hot summer runs!
Yes – there has to be some payoff for slogging through the summer heat, right? Good luck with your podiatrist appointment this week!
It feels like fall and it’s a beautiful day, but the leaves have not changed yet! I’m not sure if it’s the warm weather or what. I’m glad that it’s spreading your way–sure makes for nice running! So does no hip pain! Fingers crossed for you.
The no hip pain was such a nice change. Now if the weather will cooperate I’ll be in heaven 🙂
A pain-free week is a total win in my book! It was mild, and muggy even, pressing up on 80 here most of the week and then the nights started cooling off and the past couple of days it stayed in the 50s with 40 overnight, so I’d say fall is finally here for real.
I hope your weather is heading this way!
A pain-free week with some running miles is definitely a win! So glad your hip was happy with your activity level.
Thanks Coco – going to try to add some more miles this week…fingers crossed!
That’s great news that your hip has felt good! The weather was still so warm this week, but now it finally feels like fall! Let’s hope it sticks around!
I think we’re entitled to some fall weather by now.
The humidity was gross. I can’t wait for this week’s runs though in real fall.
Yay on pain free running. The best kind
Definitely! Looking forward to running this week!
I’m so glad to hear the hip was “squawkless” this week! That’s such a great pic of you from Monday 😉 With my 5-mile/13.1 done, that’s about it for “registered” obligations for awhile. I’m looking forward to bringing back some lower-body focused workouts again.
Thanks Kim 🙂 And congrats on your double races this weekend – looking forward to your recap!
No hip squawking definitely sounds like a win! I hope the easing back into running is exactly what you need, and hopefully, you’ll be back to your regular running in no time.

Keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks Deb!
Great news on pain free running! THat’s so wonderful to read.
Its feeling more fall like here!
I haven’t tried the foam rolling classes yet- I should!
Definitely give the foam rolling classes a try – at first, it felt funny taking a class, but in the end, it was a good way to get me to commit to a full ten minutes of dedicated rolling.
Happy to hear that your hip is behaving. Hope it stays that way.
Yes we had summer last week. Today definitely feels like fall.
I still get warm when I run. I forget how to dress from year to year.
I forget every year too…why is that?!
Glad your hip’s OK – phew! Definitely autumn here and my acer tree is turning red! I’m looking forward to getting back to some stretching and rolling once I’ve recovered from the fall I had on Sunday. Running? not so much.

The cortisone shot I had definitely seems to have helped the situation with my hip. I’m so sorry about your fall – wishing you a speedy recovery!
