I feel like I say it often but the days are flying by! It’s hard to believe we’re in the last few days of June! Mother Nature gifted us a couple of days of perfect weather with cool 50s in the mornings and no humidity, but that abruptly came to an end today with 77 degrees and 82% humidity before 8 a.m. and temps quickly on the rise.
Since one of my summer fitness goals is to try to embrace the heat…I’ll refrain from commenting further and just move on to share a quick recap of this week’s workouts.
Weekly Run Down – Week 25
Monday — 35 min HIIT Cardio Strength and 10 min Core
Tuesday — 2-mile walk and Yoga
Wednesday — 2.5-mile run, 15 min Ride, and 10 min Core
Thursday — 3.1-mile run
Friday — Rest day
Saturday — 2-mile walk, Yoga, and Strength training by way of major garden overhaul
Sunday — 4.25-mile run plus 10 min Core
Over June Coffee, I had mentioned toying with the idea of removing some older shrubs and plants to make way for some additional rose bushes. Well, on Saturday, my husband gave me the green light that he was on board! So one trip to my favorite nursery and an insane amount of digging and hauling later, the garden revamp is taking shape. I still have one more overgrown evergreen to remove and another rose bush to transfer but we had taken on more than enough for a good workout for one day!
I continue to baby the heck out of my right hip and in return, it continues to afford me pain-free short runs. We’re now in a severe heat advisory until Wednesday so the debate will be whether to do more Peloton rides or to embrace the treadmill.
How was your week? Is Mother Nature playing nice where you are? Can you believe we’re approaching the end of June?
In case you missed it:
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down.
Glad your hip is feeling good! This heat has been no joke. Indoor workouts sound like a good plan during the heat advisory!
Great week of workouts! The humidity this week was very rude considering the awesome weather we had earlier in the week.
Sounds like the garden revamp is off to a good start!
No, I seriously can’t believe it’s almost July. That is crazy!
So glad your hip is feeling good. Maybe it’s the core work, but whatever you’re doing is obviously working. Good luck with the heat this week!

June is one of my favorite months and I’m sad to see it slip away so quickly. The garden revamp sounds like a ton of work but I’ll bet it’ll be gorgeous when it’s finished. Great week of workouts for you!
Gardening is absolutely a workout!
I’m trying to figure out my workouts for the week, too, I’d already decided to embrace the treadmill — doesn’t bother me that much — and considering some indoor cycling too.
We shall see! Stay cool, Michelle.
one of my goals this summer is to embrace the heat as well. We can do it! Summer running is still not my favorite but I am really trying to push through. It’s warmer up here in Nantucket than I expected! Have a great week ahead
I can embrace the heat; it’s the humidity that I can’t get my head around. Let’s hope for some more temperate weather coming our way. Soon.
Glad to hear the hip is behaving.
Momma N is being all kinds of irrational to us Iowa folk. Even my two weather apps cannot figure out her plan of action. Very impressive with all that garden work! I know how labor intensive that can be.
Wow on the yard work. I bet it looks great. LOL on your vow to embrace the weather. If. you can’t say anything nice … Glad your hip is tolerating short runs.
Here we are working on the yard too but only in evening, too hot and humid in these days.
Glad your hip is feeling better.

Yay on pain free short runs. Sometimes all they need/want is some TLC.
Can’t wait to see the finished garden
The garden sounds like its really coming along! Glad the hip is feeling better. Like Wendy, I do okay in the heat, but the humidity crushes me. My marathon this past weekend wasn’t humid, but actually the heat (56 at the start, 75 at the finish) was a lot…I was coated in salty sweat 🙁
June always flies by, but this year more than ever. I hope July is nice and long, ha!
So excited that you can revamp your garden! I’m not much at landscaping but I’m glad for you.
It’s ben absurdly hot and miserable here, plus also super stormy. No fun, as far as I’m concerned.
Not sure where my comment from yesterday went. We’re going through cold temperatures and lots of rain at the moment. Gardening is hard work – I always wonder when I get to get to the bit with a hat and a basket, gently clipping things!
I can’t believe soon we will done halfway through the year. These past couple of months have gone by really fast. Mother Nature has not been nice here. It’s been mostly humid here and I am so over it.
We did a ton of landscaping to get our house ready for my daughter’s graduation. It’s a great feeling to have it all done, but oof, pulling out bushes really takes a toll on my body!!
