Happy Mother’s Day to all of my fellow mother runners!
I’m popping in quickly to join Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Here’s a snapshot of my workouts this week.
Weekly Run Down – Mother’s Day Edition (Week 18)
Monday — 20 min Low Impact Ride, 20 min Chest & Back and full-body stretch
Tuesday — 1-mile walk and 10 mins Sun Salutations, otherwise rest day
Wednesday — 20 min Ride plus 5 min Cool-down, 15 min Strength for Runners, and full-body stretch
Thursday — 3.1-mile run, 10 min Core, and lower body stretch. I slipped out for a rare midday run to help restore my sanity from a barrage of Zoom calls for work. Everything about this run clicked and it was a great 5K! Throw in a post-work sports massage and dinner outdoors with a friend – a good day!
Friday — 2-mile walk and 10 min Core. Another chance to meet up with a friend for an outdoor lunch and walk!
Saturday — 5-mile run and lower body stretch. Oddly, my legs felt like lead at the start of this run, but listening to Matty’s Broadway Run helped to make the miles click by and this actually turned into a nice progression run. Thanks to Cari for recommending this run!
Sunday — Started the day with a 2.5-mile walk with my husband, who’s now preparing one of my favorite dishes for a late breakfast (German Apple Pancakes!). The weather is Spring perfection here today so there will definitely be more time spent outside, including time in my garden.
For everyone celebrating today, I hope you have a great day!
In case you missed it:
Happy Mother’s Day! A Broadway themed run sounds fun. Glad the legs felt better as you went, nice work!
Thanks Jessie 🙂
Funny how those midday runs can be the best sometimes. It’s like your mind and body are just ready to run.
Hope you enjoyed your brunch! German apple pancakes sound amazing.

That midday run was so needed! I may have to find a way to make a habit of them.
Happy Mother’s Day! Glad you had some good runs this week. Hope you enjoyed your special brunch today!
Thanks Lisa 🙂
Happy Mother’s Day, Michelle! Enjoy your time outside. What are you growing in the garden? The sun finally came out but it’s cool here.

Thanks Wendy! I’ve got a wide range of flowering plants in the garden, and herbs in containers. I’m going to try my hand at tomatoes again – I always get mixed results.
I enjoyed Matty’s Broadway run too.
Glad to hear that your 5k was great. I haven’t had a good run in a long time but I am still getting out there. That’s what matters, right?
Happy Mother’s Day.
It definitely felt good to have a good run – overall my runs have been pretty meh lately. And, yes, getting out there is what counts!
Hope your mother’s day brunch was delish! Great week of workouts and a massage is always great. Have a nice week ahead
The massage hurt so good, but I felt amazing the next day.
Have a great week!
I’ve never heard of German apple pancakes but they sound yummy!
I hope that you had a great Mother’s Day! 🙂
Thanks Kim – it was a really good day 🙂
Happy Mother’s Day! Those pancakes sound delish! My husb made French Toast yesterday — mostly for him, but he made enough to share. 😉
Was that Matty’s outdoor Broadway run? If so I did it this week too.
This one was an indoor run. I’ve done his outdoor one too and liked it. It’s funny, I would have never thought to run to Broadway, but somehow Matty makes it work!
Isn’t it total bliss when a tough run morphs into a great run!! Those pancakes…yum! Our rain didn’t last as long as was forecast, and we’ve actually have had a lot more sunshine than I was expecting. I’m about to finally head out for a walk with the hubby and Max…the last child has left the building LOL Happy Mother’s Day 😉

It is bliss and I was definitely overdue for a good run! Hope you had a great Mother’s Day!
A husband capable of making German Apple Pancakes is a keeper in my book! Yum! Glad you could get out for some midday runs and meetups! They make all the difference.
I’m lucky that my husband has perfected his breakfast cooking skills…I runfess that I do not remember the last time I actually made breakfast on a weekend 🙂
Zoom fatigue is real. Glad you were able to break it with a run. So glad you had some good family time amid the running.

Being able to slip away from my laptop and Zoom calls for a run was a godsend! I really need to figure out a way to do it more often!
a good week – and a great midday run break! love, love, love those kinds of runs! hope you had a good mother’s day! sounds like it started off perfectly in any case!
A good strong week, well done!
I can imagine being exhausted from the Zoom meetings. A midday run is the perfect cure for it. I like Broadway and will also check out that run!

Great workouts this week! German Apple pancakes, yum!!! Sounds wonderful. I used to never have any meetings and now I got roped into a weekly meeting in which only 25% really pertains to me. What a time suck. I’ve got things to do people! Hope they don’t think it’s too rude when I’m muted and doing my own thing while they talk 😉

Nothing worse than losing valuable time in meetings, am I right?!
