Another week of frigid temps, snow, and ice…it is February after all. While I was indoors far more than I would have liked, I am very grateful to have both a treadmill and Peloton bike at the ready. Here’s a quick look at my week in workouts…
Monday — Peloton 20 min Ride, Arms & Shoulders, Core, and Stretch.
Tuesday — 20 min Core, Strength for Runners, Stretch…and there was shoveling. The Miley Cirus soundtrack made this core class extra challenging – if it weren’t for the fact that it was part of the enCore28 Challenge I would have taken a pass.
Wednesday — 10-min core class, otherwise a rest day.
Thursday — 3 miles on the mill and 10-min core.
Friday — 3 miles on the mill, 20-min core, and full-body stretch. To break up the monotony of another mill run, I split the run in two with the core session in between.
Saturday — Peloton 30-min Ride, 10-min core, and 10-min stretch. Added bonus of some extra time on the bike catching up with some blogger friends via Zoom.
Sunday — 3 miles earlier, plus 10-min core class, and I’m still planning some time on my yoga mat post-coffee. I was happy to log some outdoor miles! Even though it was cold and gray, it was peaceful.
We were clearly spoiled by a mild January, but I’m doing my best to not complain and just take it all in stride. Based on the forecast for the week ahead it looks like I’ll need to continue to embrace the indoor workouts. On the plus side, I have Monday off for Presidents’ Day and a much, much-needed massage scheduled for Wednesday!
How’s the weather where you are? Are you still getting outdoors or taking your workouts inside?

Glad you got out for a few miles today! February sure has been way more challenging weather wise. We will make it threw though. I am liking the 28 core challenge and I think I feel a difference doing core daily instead of 4x a week. Some classes are way harder than others! Way to get it done this week
I agree – I can feel a difference doing this core challenge. I’ve done other core workouts on Peloton but I think Matty is proving to have some of the most challenging!
Oooh, a massage sounds wonderful! Glad you got outside to run. It does make a difference. Even getting outside to shovel helps me clear my head.
I know what you mean – the fresh air is vital, even if just for a short time.
It does get really challenging this time of year, but I agree — my run today was actually quite good. Pretty much the only people out were runners. 🙂
Enjoy that massage! I usually do that for myself on my birthday, but not the last couple of years. Hopefully next year!
Enjoy your day off tomorrow, too!
Thanks Judy – it’s been a while since I’ve had a massage so I’m really looking forward to it!
I’ve heard that Matty’s core program is pretty intense! I’m not doing it this time but I’ll probably do it in the Spring.
It seems like the whole country is experiencing a cold spell, it even snowed in Texas today!
Oh yeah, some of Matty’s classes leave me with sore abs and cursing…but in a good way LOL! I would definitely encourage you to try his challenge at some point.
I’m getting outside for daily 1-mile walks, and (almost daily) shoveling, but otherwise I’m rocking the great indoors LOL It’s a bit of a buzzkill, but just a brief detour as we move towards Spring (and Summer). I’m glad we could ride together yesterday!!

The daily walks sound good…the daily shoveling not so much 😉 I hope you all get a break from all of the snow soon! I’m glad we got to ride together too!

I feel the same as you- grateful for indoor options, not loving the weather, but recognizing that it is February after all. Let’s hope the weather starts to improve soon!

We’ve made it halfway through the month so that’s a plus, right?!
So we went from temps in the 20s, to insane fog and humidity, to awful storms and tornadoes. It’s insane.
Another fabulous week of workouts for you. Way to get it all done!
Seriously, Mother Nature needs to pick a lane and stay there! I didn’t realize you were dealing with tornadoes too – stay safe!
That snowy scenery looks so pretty! I’ve been downgrading to the 10 min core classes since I have to modify a lot of the moves as it is. LOL on Miley making it harder.
It was so great to ride with you — I really love seeing each other in real time, even if it’s not quite in person.
It was great to ride with you too! Those virtual meet-ups are good for the soul 🙂
Well, you’re putting your peloton bike and treadmill to good use at least! Your picture from your outdoor run is beautiful- hang in there. February is halfway done!

The bike and mill have been my saving grace for sure!
Glad you’ve got indoor options! I am hoping i can get my recumbent bike free soon then I might be able to join your zoom get-together (my cross-trainer is a bit noisy, I need to go round it with some WD40!).
I hope you can get your bike set up – it would be great to have you join us!
Is it wrong I’m hoping mom nature comes back to her senses and flips the switch to spring on March 1 when I return from Florida? It’s so nice here I forget it’s February! All the warm beach vibes are coming your way!
I would be wishing the same if I were you 😉
I am also off today and am excited about it. I have. a few blogging things to catch up on and then will watch TV for a little bit before tacking some school projects. I am going to start again my Peloton membership to get in more workouts. I am not running as before and need to be doing something else.

That’s great that you’re jumping back into the Peloton workouts!
Enjoy your day off!!
It was great seeing you on Saturday!
I agree, it’s so much nicer getting outside whenever it’s safe to do so. I walked 5 miles today and might be able to get an outdoor run in tomorrow, but after that we might be stuck inside due to some snowy weather coming our way…
Have a great week, Michelle!

It’s great you’ve been able to be outdoors! We’re dealing with an ice storm but hopefully things will be better later this week.
Fun seeing you Saturday 🙂

any outdoor miles are a bonus right now!! I had zero last week… and still not in love with my treadmill, obviously so only one run done.
was good seeing you Saturday via Zoom!
