While there was more snow and ice to contend with this week, a quick peek at the forecast ahead has me downright giddy!
Ah yes…light at the end of the ice tunnel! OK, so before I get ahead of myself, here’s a quick recap of this week’s workouts.
Weekly Run Down Week 7
Monday — 2-miles, 10 min core, 15 min strength, and 10 min stretch. I had the day off for Presidents Day so it was nice to have the chance to sleep in a little. The weather was a mess of icy rain so it was another short treadmill run. I really enjoyed Jess’ Flash 15 workout – she knows how to make the most of a 15 min strength session!
Tuesday — 20 min ride, 20 min core, and 10 min stretch.
Wednesday — 10 min core, but otherwise a rest day. I woke up feeling really off and struggled to get moving so I took a pass on my run. A visit to my massage therapist after work was the perfect remedy.
Thursday — 3.5 miles, 10 min core, and stretch. Another gray day but 27 degrees felt balmy! Following Wednesday’s massage, my legs felt fresh and I really enjoyed the playlist from Matty’s BHM Motown run!
Friday — 2.5 miles, 15 min core, 20 min ride and there was shoveling…again. The snowstorm that was supposed to hit Thursday made an all-day appearance on Friday. I wasn’t motivated to be on the treadmill for long so I hopped on for the last of the Year of Yes runs for just a couple of miles. I wanted more cardio so I took the BHM Broadway Ride – this was my second ride with Ally, and again I found her to be too theatrical for my taste…for me, it detracted from the ride. On the plus side, I loved the soundtrack! This was also one of my favorite core classes of the enCore28 Challenge – I bookmarked it and definitely plan to take it again.
Saturday — 4 miles, 10 min core, and 15 min upper body strength. With the roads and sidewalks still a mess, it was another date with my treadmill. The back-to-back Peloton runs helped to keep the mill miles tolerable.
Sunday — As I draft this post I’m still undecided. After 3 straight days of running, I had planned to ride today, but the sun is out and the lure of another run is strong. The compromise may be a walk for some outdoor time. Day 21 of the enCore Challenge is also on tap, along with an extended stretch session or yoga.
Is the weather forecast improving where you are?

Five Quick Tips to a Good Night’s Sleep
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
I really hope that we don’t have any more snow for at least a week – I need a break from digging out my car, lol.
I have Matty’s BHM run bookmarked so I’ll probably take it sometime next month. I always love his playlists! I agree that sometimes Ally can do a little to much (kind of like Jess King) but her playlists are always good!
Good to know that Jess King is the same way – I haven’t taken one of her classes yet. Matty’s playlists never disappoint!
Our forecast is similar and I’m very happy about that! Great job this week!
Thanks Lisa!
Oh wow- almost 50 degrees! That will be amazing.
I love your flowered top in your pic- great colors!
Way to get in so much despite the weather, and yay for light at the end of the ice tunnel!!
Thanks Jessie – the top is from Ink n Burn – it’s become one of my faves 🙂
Those 40s look good! They say we can’t warm up that much yet because the snow will keep the temperatures down. Sheesh. We just can’t win. Hopefully soon!
Winter just needs to end now!
We have a similar forecast, though yours is warmer (you win!! LOL). I think I’ll be doing more shoveling in the morning because the snow started falling this morning, and it’s not showing any signs of letting up. Fingers crossed I can give Milly some down time this week 😉
While Milly’s been a trusted running partner I’m sure you’re ready for a break 😉
I had a few days this week where I just felt off as well! I am chalking that up the annoying weather as well. This week’s forecast does look much better fingers crossed for both of us!
I think this feeling of never-ending winter is getting to everyone just a bit. Hopefully it’s short-lived!
I’ll bet some 40s will feel so nice after all that ice and snow. Great job getting all those workouts in. A massage would be amazing about now!
I did not realize how much I need that massage!! Going to try not to wait so long before I have another one.
Snow tomorrow but 40 on Wednesday. Heat wave. I’m so over winter. And I escaped.
I enjoy Mattys playlist. I’ll look for the Motown one.
Have a good week with some outdoor runs.
You were smart to escape when you did LOL!
Great job on your workouts last week. We’re supposed to have a decent week after tomorrow’s freezing rain (similar, but slightly warmer each day than your forecast). I’m hoping to get some outdoor runs in this week. Hope you can, too!

Thanks Debbie!
We may see some snow in the morning, but then it is supposed to be in the 40s and turn to rain that should wash it all away. I definitely think stacking short runs makes the time go by faster.
I think stacking the shorter treadmill runs is going to continue to be my approach until Mother Nature calls it quits on all the snow and ice.
We’re not quite as warm as you next week but I’m pumped for what we have! High 20’s/low 30’s and as long as it’s not icy then see ya later treadmill!

The ice is really the game-changer – without it, I’m more willing to go out and try to brave the frigid temps. But, if there’s ice, no thanks!
Oooh, those temps will feel nice! How is your hip feeling? You haven’t mentioned it so I’m hoping it’s feeling pretty good!

I’ve been running pain-free – such a gift! Thanks so much for asking!
Great week!
I don’t know if the forecast is improving exactly. Yes, it’s sunny, but it’s also getting warmer, and in Florida, that means the end of the lovely running season LOL. Oh, well. It can’t last forever, I guess.
I’m sure it must warm-up pretty fast there. We’ve got a while before it really gets warm…right now I would just settle for some sunshine.
What did you end up with yesterday?
Three days running + shoveling = a lot!
I have definitely peeked ahead at the weather too. While not as warm as yours, yes, there are supposed to be 2 days in the mid 40s! I hope they’re right. I’ll probably go to my mom on one of those days, so I’ll have to trade a hike for a run.
Monday was a mess of icy rain, but thankfully no shoveling!
I hope it does get warmer for you. It’s come up here – I wore plain clothes instead of fleecy-lined ones on Sunday for my long run!
Oh that’s nice that it is warming up there! Hope that continues for you!
I don’t think I’ve taken a class with Ally but will check that one out. Your theatrical comment made me chuckle. 🙂 Warmer weather coming out way too!

I think ALly is an acquired taste LOL – but this is why I love that fact there are so many different instructors on Peloton. There’s someone for everyone 🙂
Sorry you are still struggling with the weather there! Here it’s cleared up and definitely spring-like!
Also sorry to hear you felt off on Wednesday! I bet a massage really did the trick! Our massage therapists can finally go back to work next week so I’m going to call mine soon!
Getting that massage was everything! I didn’t realize just how much I needed it!
