I know I mentioned it over coffee but it bears repeating, this was a l-o-n-g week! Here’s how my workouts went down.
Monday — Rest day though there was not much resting as I spent a good chunk of the day on the road for work.
Tuesday — 3-mile run.
Wednesday — I woke up feeling less than stellar so I took a pass on my usual OTF class and opted for some yoga.
Thursday — 4-miles. This was a tough run. I just never found a groove, but you couldn’t beat the sunshine and mild temps!
Friday — Orangetheory. It was a strength day so it was heavy weights on the floor and lots of inclines on the treadmill. This was a challenging workout, but I felt pretty good throughout. Definitely a nice change after feeling off for most of the week.
Saturday — 4.6 miles. The wind was gusting all morning and I kept hoping it would settle down, but no luck. So I opted to skip the wind and layers for shorts and a tank on the treadmill. It was definitely the right call as I was rewarded with a great run!
Sunday — Orangetheory. The studios were running a special promotion for Daylight Saving – bring a guest to class and get an extra hour back in the form of an extra class. My husband J has been curious to check out a class so this was the perfect chance to get a workout in together. It was an Endurance, Strength, Power (ESP) day and I was really happy with how good I felt today. J seemed to enjoy the workout so maybe he’ll consider signing up.
It was definitely nice to see the week’s workouts end much better than they started! Hoping I can carry this momentum into the new week!
How was your week?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
I am glad that your week ended better than it started! Wow you got your hubs to try OTF! Maybe I should retry it
Yeah he’s not usually one for organized classes so it was a nice surprise when he said he’d go with me!
Super busy week! I work in finance and the first few days of the month are when we do most of our work. It’s like I forget that every month and am just totally shocked when everything is complete chaos. I need to start scheduling a reminder to myself to not take anything on during the beginning of the month. Congrats on all of the workouts that you got in spite of it!
It’s too bad all of the chaos has to hit at once vs being more spread out for you over the course of the month.
How great that your husb went to OTF with you! There a few couples that come to my class. I think I’d be competitive on splat points. ;-). I was dragging this week too – I wonder how much was psychological with all the virus news
I must admit I was pretty competitive on the splat points too 😉
Idk–it may have felt tough to you, but on paper (ok, screen!), your week looks solid. I love that your hubs went to OTF with you. There’s no way that would have happened here! :p
I mentioned the OTF promotion to him a couple of weeks ago and got no reaction so I never thought he’d take me up on it 🙂
Glad your week got better and you’re hopefully feeling better. Love your Tuesday shoes
The wind here was crazy yesterday
Thanks Cari – it was definitely nice to end on an up note!
Glad your week ended on a brighter note than it started! You still had a strong week, and how fun your husband joined you for an OTF workout. I’m always trying to drag my husband to try out whatever new class I’m enjoying at the time. He’s generally a good sport about it, but only once 🙂
It was definitely fun to have him join in…now the question is will he ever go back! LOL!
So great to see your hubby fitnessing with you!! As you know, my hubby did the 10K race yesterday with me, but he has not run since our race at the Holiday Bowl (you know, over two months ago). He was whining about how sore he felt and how slow he ran….I’m like, what did you expect? LOL BUT, I’m glad he’s always willing to lace up and do these random races. It would be fun to do a meet-up with the hubbies someday….we should look for a race 🙂
Too funny – my husband always acts surprised when he’s sore after a race or a run with me and I’m always like, “well maybe that because you haven’t run in __ weeks!” But like you said, I do love that he’ll lace up with me every now and then. A race meet-up with the hubbies would be a lot of fun 🙂
Well done on your hard work! and getting your husband into a class, too!
Thanks Liz!
I agree it was a long week! It’s been sunny here but the wind won’t seem to let up. I hope J decides to join you at OTF! That’d be fun.
It seems like everyone was dealing with crazy winds this week! Always makes a run feel harder!
Sorry that you were feeling off too. I considered running a few times last weekend, but in the end, I knew it wasn’t right yet. Still not sure today is but I’m going in anyway (how can I resist the awesome weather we’re supposed to have today)?
That would be wonderful if your husband joined you at OTF! It would totally kill my husband.
I hope you’re feeling better Judy!
I enjoyed yesterday’s OTF workout too, and so did my sister. I think it was a good class to bring a guest 🙂
Here’s hoping that this week will be less busy when it comes to work!
I’m glad your sister enjoyed the class! And, yes I hope we both have a quieter week at work!
love it when the week actually ends bette rthan it starts!!
I do know those struggle runs that actually are made up for by sunshine! I guess they can’t all be great runs!
Always better when you can end the week on a high note, right?
That’s great that your husband tried out OTF with you and seemed to enjoy it 🙂
Definitely fun to have him along!
Love that your husband joined you for OTF! I miss getting to go to 9Round with mine. It was so fun to do as a team.
Another vote for “what a long week!” What is going on???
I don’t know what was going on with the week – going to blame it on the impending full moon :p
