Happy Friday!
Who’s ready for the weekend?! I know that I am. So how about we start things off by catching up over coffee. Grab a mug and let’s join Coco and Deborah for this month’s coffee date.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that with our spring break now in the rearview mirror, I’m already trying to figure out the next family vacation! I don’t think I realized just how fried I was until I hit the cruise ship. While there probably won’t be another big trip this summer, I’m looking forward to some day trips, long weekends, and some quiet “staycation” days hanging on the patio.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that April means lacrosse season is in full swing in my house! My mudroom once again looks like an equipment supply closet and I’m looking forward to traveling around New England to watch both of my boys play.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that, while I do love lacrosse season, it wreaks havoc with my ability to schedule a spring race as there always seems to be a conflict. Case in point, it looks like I’m going to have to take a pass on the Portland 10 Miler at the end of this month thanks to a combination of a lax tournament and J traveling for work. Thankfully, the race offers bib transfers! (Why don’t more races provide this option?!)
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the other thing I love about April is getting back into my gardens! I love how creative gardening can be and it just gives me another reason to spend time outdoors. I’ve been perusing gardening catalogs for ideas and am looking forward to my first trip to the local nurseries.
What would you tell me over coffee? What are you looking to this month?
That happens to me too. Sometimes I don’t know how much I needed a vacation until I’m on vacation, lol. I hope that you are able to get in more staycations and 3 day weekends this year.

Yeah this vacation really shined a spotlight on the fact that I’ve really been burning the candle at both ends. Downtime is so important!
Oh, my lacrosse must be so busy!! I am sorry it is conflicting with your race scheduling! I can’t wait to get back to gardening. Just need the remnants of the snow to LEAVE!!

I can’t believe you still have snow! That’s just wrong!
I’m looking forward to a little trip down south in May…I can’t wait to get away again!
We were always conflicted with rugby–I had to miss a lot of races because of that. The other issue is that I work some weekends. Fortunately the office I’m at now is pretty flexible with scheduling.
Oh a little trip south sounds like a great idea right about now!
I’d definitely tell you about the new gym they’re opening today in the town I’m staying now. And definitely about my holidays as well! I’m planning to go back to the Czech Republic (Now I’m as an au-pair in the UK) for a few days!

Yay for a new gym!
I am just looking forward to some springlike weather — someday! Not today, unfortunately!
We have no vacations scheduled. No big goal races. I do like having something to look forward to, and I’m sure that at some point we’ll do something — mostly likely a long weekend.

We can only hope that spring weather is going to show up eventually!
Ooo! Garden time is the best time of year! Can’t wait to see what you’re growing this year! Do you grow veggies or flowers? I’m looking forward to my first half marathon in one and a half weeks (EEEK!) and warmer temps. I am NOT a cold weather person!

I grow mostly flowers and some herbs. I’m going to try tomatoes and peppers this year.
Best of luck with your first half!
We tried lacrosse at school once – great wooden sticks with rope nets and it got dangerous quickly! Hope you can get some running in. I wish I liked gardening but I always seem to be doing heaving around and keeping control rather than creative stuff as such. And pruning.

Lacrosse can definitely get pretty rough sometimes!
Ah, that beach photo looks sooo relaxing! My husband wants to plan a beach vacation and rent a house where we can bring Scooby. I guess I’m on board with that. I miss lacrosse games, but not all the laundry!

Renting a house on the beach sounds like a great vacation option!
Your LaCrosse season is my high school track season. It definitely gets in the way of racing. We are kindred spirits in the garden. I need to get some seeds started! Can’t wait for the risk of frost to pass.

I figure there will always be a race to run but there will only be a couple of years to watch them play.
I need to get seeds started too but am starting to wonder when Mother Nature will cooperate!
Sorry, I thought I commented on this (?), anyways, here goes again LOL. Anyways I’m totally with you on the spring busyness. Even without a prom-goer (or my Promenade obligations), and no more dance recitals…somehow I am still super busy. ANd I have no idea how that happened…..
Hopefully with all the busyness comes some fun, right? 🙂
I am so glad you had a great time on your vacation!
The last time I went on a real vacation was over 3 years ago! That needs to change asap!
I miss going to lacrosse games! Hope your boys have a great season!
