In my quest to get to the bottom of my GI issues, I have been keeping a food journal – I admit not as faithfully as I probably need to, but I am starting to see some patterns worth noting.
A big thing that’s jumped off the page for me is the trouble dairy seems to be causing. “OK – not a problem” I thought I will simply eliminate all things dairy….except there’s one little indulgence I’m still struggling with….

Ice cream! Sweet, creamy, cool refreshing ice cream. Ice cream is one of my all time favorite summer indulgences. I’ve often joked that I run so I can eat ice cream. Well in true frenemy-style, this favorite treat of mine is wreaking havoc with my running! So while I’m not yet willing to cut all ties with ice cream, we will definitely be seeing a lot less of each other this summer.
Do you have a food frenemy?
I am an ice cream girl, too, and I can’t imagine giving it up! I really hope there’s a way you can find to keep just a tad of it in your life?
I am going grain free for awhile. I have been noticing some GI probs after eating bread. I got tested for Celiac’s but came up negative. But I could have a sensitivity per my doctor. So after eating some toast today and then dying on my run, I pretty much have had it and am starting today. Do they make pistachio coconut icecream or tofutti?
Oh wow. Hope you can keep at least an occasional relationship with ice cream. Due to thyroid issues, I need to be soy free. Soy is pretty much in everything under the sun that is processed. : /
unfortunately eggs and dairy. I have to admit I had a much easier time getting rid of ice cream than I thought i would. My issue is watching my husband eat pizza each week!

yogurt became my frenemy a while back. Thankfully not fro-yo or I’d be really sad. So sorry that ice cream isn’t being nice to you. I love ice cream.
