MAYhem Runfessions

Wowza here we are on the last day of May  – I have to ask why is May such a busy month?! Overall it’s been a good, but hectic month – living up to its “MAYhem” reputation. As we move into June I’m personally hoping to see more white space on the calendar.

Since it’s the last Friday of the month, for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m linking up with Marcia to share a couple of Runfessions so I can go into June with a clean slate.

MAYhem Runfessions

I runfess that blogging has really been pushed to the back burner. I only recently realized that my blog anniversary had come and gone. It’s hard to believe it’s been 14 years! Perhaps as things slow down during the summer I’ll find my blogging mojo again.

I runfess that this month I have been inundated with product review requests coming through the blog –  oh the irony!

At the begining of the month I got the update of the Garmin Connect app and I runfess that I wish I hadn’t. I can’t find the data easily – I’m not a fan of having to scroll so much, it’s cumbersome. In my opinion there was nothing wrong with the old interface – as I saw someone else post, it feels like change for change sake. Sigh…

Have you ever had an “upgrade” that you could have lived without? What would you runfess?

  1. I’m not liking the Garmin upgrade either… it’s very user-unfriendly, at least on my end. Not all “upgrades” are improvements, LOL. Hard to believe it’s June tomorrow…wow! Summer is upon us 🙂

  2. I runfess I haven’t been wearing my Garmin since getting an Apple watch. I just don’t even care about the stats anymore. Ugh. I am right there with you ignoring the product review requests. Who has time? Haha!

  3. I’m OK with the Garmin update but I don’t look at it much. I did customize the initial screen though — have you tried that?

That said, I often feel like “upgrades” come from “consultants” who decide what you “should” want — even if you don’t!

    Glad you May-ed through May-hem!

  4. I ignore all Garmin stats. I just want to see how far I’ve run, but other than that I’m a minimalist.
Yes, May was crazy!!! WHY? Why does the school have to schedule every single thing at the same time??? Anyway, we made it.

I don’t pay too much attention to all the Garmin data. Yes, it does seem harder to navigate now than it once was. Hope your month ahead is less crazy!

  6. For work we use WebEx…they updated the app and I HATE it.

I have to check garmin app to see what’s different.

Happy Blogversary… I forget mine most years. It’s been16 years for me.

  7. May is one of our super busy months, too. I don’t mind it, but I was overwhelmed the last two weeks for sure.

I also have gotten a bunch of product review requests. Not a bad thing for sure.

Happy blog-a-versary! I always seem to miss mine, and I think I am at 14 years too. Isn’t that crazy? Congratulations to us both!

  8. I completely agree with you about the Garmin Connect update! It’s so user-unfriendly! I agree with you, it’s like they did it just to do it.

Also, you may have noticed I’m not blogging as often anymore. It’s so time consuming for the amount of views I get. I do continue my weekly rundown because it’s also my training log.

  1. […] Last month I shared my annoyance with the new Garmin Connect “upgrade”. Well I runfess that since I received my new Apple Watch as a Mother’s Day gift, my Garmin hasn’t seen the light of day. Maybe things will change when I return to running…but for now #sorrynotsorry […]
