As we welcome in a new month, it’s the perfect time to settle in and catch up over coffee. For this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m linking up with Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date, so grab a mug of your fave beverage, and let’s chat.
Catching Up Over May Coffee
Over coffee I would tell you that April was a whirlwind! 3 out of the 4 weekends we were attending admitted student events. My highschooler had narrowed it down to this final 3 and we promised him we’d make the visits before he made a final desision. The planets aligned with the event dates on consecutive weekends so up and down the east coast we went!
And, over coffee, I would tell you that a decision has been made – he’s heading to the University of New Hampshire! In addition to a great engineering program, the school checks a lot of his boxes. It’s been wonderful to see him have some great options and to see the smile on his face when he announced his choice – Go Wildcats!
Over coffee, I would tell you that I am preparing for what we affectionally refer to in my house as “May Madness” – from wrapping up Lacrosse season, team awards dinner, seniors’ dinner, end of classes, senior project, a major work event and the homestretch of the renovation, I’m just going to buckle up and hold on for one chaotic ride.
What would you share over coffee?

Congrats to the future wildcat! That’s exciting!!! You do have a crazy May on tap, but lots of fun in store 🙂
Thanks Kim. I often wonder if May will ever be a quiet month!
Congrats to your son! That was lucky that those events didn’t conflict with each other so he can feel good about his decision.
Sounds like you have a wild ride ahead, but lots of good things!
Thanks Coco! We totally lucked out on the consecutive weekends – it was a lot of travel but worth it!
Congrats to your son! It will be nice for you all not to have him too far away either! May is always busy isn’t it!?
Thanks Deborah – and yes so happy to have him a short drive away 🙂
Wow! New Hampshire!!! That is very cool. Congrats to your son, and a big sigh of relief for you that the decision has been made.
Ha ha… I love that meme. Every time I had a spare moment this week, that’s how I felt. You definitely have a crazy month- enjoy all the madness.
Thanks Jenny – so happy to have the decision made. Now it’s the mad sprint to graduation!
Aww, yay! That’s exciting! Congrats to him and yay for a decision being made — it can be so difficult!
The whole college process is so stressful – I’m glad he’s done and happy with the outcome.
Congrats to your son! Sounds like a busy month but how exciting to have the decision made. I love the campus of UNH and visiting Portsmouth, NH, too. That will be nice for you!
So will the nest be empty next fall!?
It is a lovely campus and Portsmouth is a nice town – I look forward to visiting.
No empty nest for us – my oldest moved home to finish his degree, but at the same time he’s hardly ever home.
Congrats on the big college decision! That’s so exciting and I hope he loves it there! I am right there with you with the insane May. We can do this!
Thanks Marcia! We can do this 🙂
Oh, congratulations to him! Sounds like he found exactly what he’s looking for! I hope his first year is amazing!
Thanks so much Jenn 🙂
That is exciting about your son! Congrats to him!
