Well Hello March!
I feel like I say it every month, but boy are these days flying by! Even with the extra day, February blew by and here we are welcoming in a new month! For this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m linking up with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date. So grab a mug of your fave hot beverage and let’s chat a bit.
Catching Up Over March Coffee
Over coffee, I would ask if you knew that today starts meteorological spring? We had a brief taste of spring temps earlier this week before plunging back into frigid weather. Needless to say, I am so ready for the milder temps to stick around. A friend recently commented about how much she enjoys the cold weather and I seriously had to wonder how we’re friends! (Kidding…kinda)
Over Coffee, I would tell you that my latest TV obsession is HGTV’s Married to Real Estate. It’s a great design show featuring a husband and wife team combining real estate, renovation, and design. I love the couple’s chemistry and I may have borrowed a design idea or two for our remodel!
And, speaking of remodeling, over coffee I would tell you that our renovation continues to click along! With the framing, electrical, and plumbing rough work done, we’re knee-deep in final design selections. I have been torturing my husband (his words not mine!) with paint palettes.
What would you tell me over coffee? Have you had a taste of Spring yet?

OMG, that notice about husbands picking out paint colors! Spot-on! After a 30-hour revert back to winter, spring is back for the next several days. This has really been the strangest winter on record; I’ll be ecstatic when spring/summer is here for the long haul. That’s exciting to hear more about your renovation!
Even my husband had to laugh at that sign – he truly wants very little to do with selecting paint colors 🙂
Hah, that’s a great meme about choosing paint. We actually hired someone to just help us pick paint colors for our kitchen/dining room renovation. It was well worth it!
We had weather whiplash this week too. I went from walking Scooby in shorts to needing a hat, scarf, and mittens again.
The whole color selection process can be overwhelming – I actually enjoy it, but my hubs no so much LOL
Choosing paint is not easy! It always looks different than you think. I don’t typically watch reality shows but I am obsessed with Traitors on Peacock-check it out
I haven’t heard of Traitors but I’ll look it up. Thanks for the suggestion!
I was wondering how your renovation is going. I hope you’ll share pictures when all is finished.
I used to love winter weather, especially if we got lots and lots of snow, but no more! I still like the occasional snowfall, but only if it doesn’t stick around for long.
I do enjoy one good snowfall but then I’m pretty much ready to move on to spring.
I am so ready for Spring. I enjoy the cold during the holidays but once those are over I am ready for Spring! I love the picture about the paint. I have trouble picking paint colors as well. In fact, I have paint cans in my garage right now… three different colors… and need to pick one for our half bath. I thought I knew what I wanted but then changed my mind… twice, and now am so confused at what I want I have just given up, lol.
Samplize has been my saving grace with picking paint colors – they provide large swatches of paint colors that you can temporarily stick on your walls. It’s been a great way to live with a color for a bit before committing.
Hahahaha… that sign is hilarious. I must say you have a very laid-back attitude about the renovations! Most people (including me) complain bitterly while it’s going on- even though we know it will be amazing in the long run, it’s so hard to live with it going on.
Yes, I don’t understand how people like cold weather. What in the world is there to “like” about it???
I think it helps that we’ve had pretty steady progress through out the reno – as long as there’s pounding there’s progress! lol Fingers crossed I can hold on to this optimism until the end of April.
My hubby wants nothing to do with decorating and that’s a good thing.
I am so over winter and it hasn’t been a bad one.
I know what you mean – it’s been a relatively mild winter by New England standards, and yet I’m still over it!
It’s basically summer here. I miss our colder days!
I am a pro at picking paint. Not to toot my own horn, but I get a color in my head, grab 2 maybe 3 swatches, and have a final answer by the end of the day. Sometimes i just buy the paint and go for it without thinking twice. I guess my thought is that paint is fairly cheap and easy to change if I hate it, so no harm, no foul.
I agree that is the beauty of paint – it’s fairly easy to swap out if you don’t love it. The only time I got really stressed out picking paint was when we had the exterior painted. I agonized over those choices, but love the way it turned out.
You know I LOVE cold weather. Can we please still be friends?!
How’s the renovation coming?
I will not hold your love of cold weather against you 😉
So far so good on the reno – hoping to wrap it up towards the end of April.
I am looking forward to Spring too. We had a nice warm day early in the week and then it got cold again. I do love that the days are longer. Today it was light a little after 6.
I love that the days are getting longer too!
hahah, I do notttt do well in cold weather either so I’m with you there. 😛
That notice on paint colors is hilarious, hahah. Best of luck to you both on the rest of the renovations!
I want summer light but mild temperatures. winter is my favorite running weather because it’s not humid
We had summer yesterday. Mean
