August has flown by in a blink and here we are on the last Friday of the month already! Marcia has opened the Runfessional and the Fit Five Friday crew is ready to go…so let’s get started, shall we?
Sharing Some August Runfessions
I runfess that I was so nervous heading into the Brooks Hype Fest last weekend but once I got to Santa Monica it was clear I had no reason to be – everyone was so warm and welcoming!
And, bonus I got to hang out and room with Wendy!
I runfess that I have been a little lackadaisical in my prep for the TC 10M. My “long” runs have been hovering around 6 miles, but with a little over 5 weeks to go, it’s time to stretch these runs out!
I runfess that I did my first ever running bra run while at Hype Fest. Some of my team was really feeling the heat during the Scavenger Hunt, so as we reached Venice Beach, we shed our running shirts for a bit.
Do you ever run in just a run bra? Does meeting new people make you nervous?

Bravo for the running bra run! I have not ventured down that road…yet. Hype Fest looks like it was a great time, with all kinds of camaraderie:-)
Hype Fest was really pretty special – so happy I was able to attend this year!
That event looked like so much fun. Too bad I can’t run in Brooks shoes. I would totally go.
I bet Wendy was a great roommate.
Yes you have enough time to prepare for 10. You’re physically ready but maybe not mentally. For 13 you train 10 and for 26.2 you train 20 miles.
You totally rocked the running bra.
Thanks Darlene – I think you’re right about needing to get mentally prepared.
I’m glad you had fun at Hype Fest! Love the jump shot!
Thanks Marcia – it was a good time from start to finish 🙂
I’m so glad we got to room together and hang together! What a fun weekend and I can’t believe it’s already been a week since we were there. You were more brave than me to do that bra run!
We need another meet up soon!
I’m so glad you had the chance to go to Hype Fest. The whole team is so nice and friendly. Love the jump I pic of you all. I very rarely run in just a bra. Maybe I should
The RHT is really full os some of the nicest folks! And I “blame” my scavenger hunt crew for the bra run – peer pressure lol 😉
Meeting new people makes me extremely nervous!!! But I’m always so happy after the experience, but my goodness, is my stomach up in arms leading up to it! So glad you had such a wonderful experience – and to answer your other questions, I’ve never run in a bra but its been one of my goals for the longest time!
I’m the same way with meeting new people – especially such a large group! But the experience did not disappoint!
Hype fest looked amazing – I runfess to having some serious FOMO! I love the vibe that Brooks has created and the diversity and inclusion. SO awesome!
I don’t join the sports bra club often but I was tempted this week – SO HOT here!
I agree – Brooks really has done such a great job!
I will say not that I’ve braved the sports bra run I may consider it again – especially in the crazy heat!
So glad you had fun. I’m so anxious around new people, even though it usally works out. Haven’t done a sports bra run — so terrified of sunburn. But I would if I had extra sunscreen. Let them stare. They’ll find soon I”m not that exciting. LOL
LOL I love that sentiment – I’m not that exciting either. And I quickly learn, most folks are not paying attention 😉
What fun Hype Fest seemed like!
And that jumping photo is just perfect!
