Runfessions for June

Happy Friday! It’s time for another edition of Fit Five Friday – and since it’s the last Friday of June, I’m linking up with Marcia to share a couple of Runfessions. So let’s dive in!

Runfessions for June

Did the race even happen if you don’t write the recap? I runfess that on more than one occasion I sat down to write my recap of the Run to Remember 5M but inevitably got distracted and never got it done. Then time passed, there wasn’t much blogging in June and it was only just the other day that I realized I never got back to finishing the post. Oh well, I’ll at least share the medal 🙂

I runfess that I need a more focused approach to my strength training – I used to map out my workouts on Sunday evenings, planning my stacks in the Peloton app. Well, there was very little (read no!) planning this month, leaving me feeling like my workouts were a bit haphazard. I’ll be returning to my planning ways in July.

Do race registrations come in bunches? I runfess that no sooner did I receive the confirmation email for the Twin Cities 10M than I started contemplating what else I might run this fall.  Gotta love a runner’s thinking, right?

Any runfessions to share?

  1. I haven’t made any race plans for the rest of the year–and I don’t think I will. There is always the possibility of a ‘pop up’ decision, I wish I’d known that running the 10 mile was an option at Twin Cities–I would have put it out there for Brooks!

  2. I’ve heard so many awesome things about the Twin Cities race weekend! Gotta runfess, that 10-mile has me contemplating the possibilities:-) When it comes to race recaps, I just force myself to do them right away or else I’ll forget many of the details, LOL!

  3. LOL, I have to write up a recap the same day or I forget everything.

I think one of the Pump Up The Volume Collections would be a good fit for you — three days a week and now that they are not “programs” you can be more flexible about getting them done. They each are different, but Vol 1 was good and so far I like Vol 2.

  4. I’ve most definitely failed to write race recaps. And now I don’t even race. Haha! That 10-miler is going to be a blast!

  5. I agree that planning out my Peloton workouts helped keep me organized. I also like doing the set programs like the 3 day splits (as you know). Right now I am working my way through the pump it up classes. They are short so it’s easy to add on where you want

  6. We’ll give you credit for that race even without the recap! The medal is nice : )
When I did Peloton, I found that I had to plan my workouts at least a little in advance- there are so many options, it’s overwhelming. I know there are some new programs now that people are liking, and that makes it easy to plan. Good luck with it!

  7. I’d like to do that Twin Cities race and yes, I think the race emails come in big bunches!

  8. Nope, no races. And I don’t write out a plan. I just kind of look at the week & try to figure out where things might go, but then it depends on how I feel!

I get a lot of race emails. Most aren’t local so I just delete them.

  9. I need some accountability for strength. I am definitely floundering. We4 have a few boutique boot camp places near us, but they are pricey, and I don’t know if I feel like paying the money. Sigh.
