April Coffee Chat

As we ease into a new month, this is the perfect time to settle in and catch up over coffee. For this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m linking up with Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date, so grab a mug of your fave beverage, and let’s chat.

April Coffee Chat

Over coffee, I would share how excited I am to have my college boy home for an extended Easter weekend! He got home last night and with the way his class schedule lines up with the days off, he doesn’t need to be back on campus until Wednesday!

Over coffee, I would tell you that once again I’ll be volunteering for the Boston Marathon. I’ll be working bib pick-up on Friday afternoon so if you’re running come see me!

After sharing my contractor woes over the past couple of months it seems only fitting that over coffee I would tell you that we have finally received some bids and have settled on a contractor. Now we need to get past the town’s conservation commission – sigh. Please send me some patience…

Your turn…what would you tell me over coffee?

  1. Ugh to your construction woes! Hopefully, the town’s commission will give you the thumbs up.

How fun to work at the Boston expo! I see that Kara Goucher, Alison Desir, Christine Yu, and Lauren Fleshman are holding a joint session on Sunday and signing books. Having serious FOMO over here!!! (Christine’s book hasn’t been released yet but it is on my TBR!) Women runners are having a moment, aren’t they?

  2. Conservation committee? Is there a chance they’d want you to keep some of the integrity of the old kitchen?? Have so much fun at the expo. Boston is truly the best expo ever. Enjoy having your son home too!

    • We have wetlands behind our property so in addition to the standard building permits we have to get the Conservation Board’s approval – so many hoops!

  3. LOL on that meme! Wow on having to get commission approval for your renovations. I hope that goes smoothly.

It must be so fun to work at the Boston expo!

  4. I’m envious of your proximity to the Boston fun! Thank you for donating your time to that! Don’t you just love all hoops to jump through for home improvement! I hope this next approval happens a little more timely for you.

  5. Enjoy your family time!

    Contractors. Ugh, it’s so frustrating!

  6. Volunteering for Boston should be fun! We are in the midst of redoing our deck and porch and it is going better than expected. Hope yours does too. Enjoy your son this weekend!

    • Nice that your reno is going well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we can get over this next hurdle quickly – it would be nice to break ground soon!

  7. Oh shoot! We get in on Saturday and I’ll head to the Expo when we get in. Any chance you can come in on Sunday for out Arc’teryx shake out?? It’s at 10:15. I’d love to meet you IRL.

    Enjoy your family Easter celebrations!

    • Oh, bummer on the timing! I’m still waiting to hear what the Brooks RHT has planned for Sunday as there was a rumor of a shakeout run. I’m also going to try to catch the panel discussion with Kara, Lauren, Alison, and Christine on Sunday – need to find out what time that is. It would be great to see you!

  8. I’m envious! My son has a four day weekend but it’s too far for him to come home. I hope you have some time off work so you can enjoy your family.
That meme is hilarious. Yes, you need a lot of patience when you’re dealing with contractors.

    • This is definitely an advantage of him being a 3.5 hour car ride away. The minute my son said he was heading home I took both Friday and Monday off 😉 Looking forward to some downtime!

  9. Renovations are so frustrating. I love my kitchen soo it was worth it…

    Good luck

We need a new deck and I’m procrastinating about it.

Volunteering for Boston is so exciting…

Maybe I’ll do that for NYC when I don’t run it.

    • I keep telling myself that all of these early hassles will be worth it once the project is finally underway – we really need the new kitchen.

I do love volunteering for Boston – I think this is my 9th year! I bet volunteering for NYC would be a blast.

  10. What a wonderful Easter you are going to have!

Best of luck with the next step of your project!

  11. Have a great time volunteering at the Boston expo!
Glad your boy is home, that is great news! nice to spend some time together!
Best of luck with the conservation committee! and lots of patience being sent your way!

  12. That is awesome that you are going to volunteer! I hope you have a great time with your son!
