I make no secret that Fall is my favorite season and I could give you a long list of the things I love about it. But, for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m sharing 5 things I’m most looking forward to this season.
Five Things for This Fall
Fall Weather!
Yeah, ok maybe an obvious choice, but I am such a sweater, jeans, and boots kind of girl. And fall also means perfect running weather! It was in the upper 40s for my run this morning and I loved it!
Fall Races!
I have not one…but two races on the schedule for November. First up is the Western Mass 10M – 10 milers are my favorite distance so I’m really excited to be a part of this race’s inaugural year!
And then later in the month, I’ll be running the Philadelphia Half Marathon! I ran this race 10 years ago and had a blast (recap here). I’ve been wanting to go back for a while but could never get things to align in my schedule. For added fun, my hubby J has decided not only to travel with me but to run the 8K!
Parents Weekend!
I will fully admit that I am counting down the days until I can go visit my college boy. The schedule for the weekend’s festivities came out a few days ago and it looks like a pretty jam-packed, fun couple of days.
Vacation!
I shared over coffee a couple of weeks ago that our anniversary getaway is booked! I’ve got some big work events happening throughout October so a November vacation to wine country will be a perfect reward.
What are you looking forward to this fall?

Bring on the weather! Looks like the heat is back next week unfortunatley. I love the Philly Half and wanted to do it again this year but it doesn’t fit into my schedule. thanks for the linkup
I’ve been wanting to do the Philly half for a while – so glad to make it work in my schedule this year.
Yes, I love fall, although we don’t get the fall weather down here. i can see why you’re excited for fall- you’ve got a lot of fun things going on between the vacation and the races! I’m envious that you’re going to parent’s weekend! We won’t be going for the second year in a row- it’s just too far away for us. i hope you enjoy it!
I’m grateful that we only have a 3.5-hour drive to get to campus.
What great things to look forward to.
Especially a race and a vacation.
I love the fall foliage so I am looking forward to doing more hikes.
And a trip to Maine and NYC in October. Of course there will be races. I have a half Oct 2 and Nov 20. A 15k Dec 3 and Nov 13.
I do love hiking in the fall – always so pretty!
You’ve got a great line-up of races!
Fall is my favorite, too – for the weather, yummy foods and my favorite races.
I did the Philly Half Marathon in 2000 and 2001 when we lived there. It’s one of my faves! Philly is a very underrated city in my opinion. I’m excited to be visiting there at the end of September, too.
I think you’re right about it being underrated – enjoy your visit!
You do have a fun fall lined up! I am looking forward to cooler weather for sure!
Hoping to make the most of the season – cause we know what’s coming next 😉
Fall makes it so easy to sign up for all the races! We haven’t yet hit the hgih 40s but it’s such good sleeping weather.
happy anniversary!
It does make it easy – I need to check myself and not sign up for more than my body can handle LOL 😉
I love Fall weather (sweater weather) and colors! The temps are still too warm during the day, where I am but I am starting to feel the change, especially at night.
It sounds like you have some nice races coming up! And how exciting that you can visit your son at college!
I’m definitely looking forward to all the fall has to offer 🙂
I’ve scheduled a Half for November as well and really looking forward to it. It’s called the Jacaranda Race as all the Jacaranda Trees are in full bloom then so you run with a canopy of purple flowers — at least that’s how I have envisioned it in my head!
Sounds like it will be a beautiful course!
