Happy Friday!
We’re rolling into the first weekend of the month which means Coco and Deborah are hosting the Ultimate Coffee Date. It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday! I’ve got a big mug of coffee in hand, so grab your fave hot beverage, and let’s catch up a little.
April Catch-up Over Coffee
Over coffee in February, I shared my challenges trying to find a new car. Well, I’m happy to say that a couple of weeks ago the planets aligned finally and I found my new ride!
Over coffee, I’d tell you that I was recently interviewed for an article for Women’s Running Magazine on the impact of fibroids on running. Believe it or not, the article’s author found me through a blog post I wrote back in 2015. The article is part of Outside.com/Women’s Running’s member-exclusive content and can be found here.
Over coffee, I’d tell you that I’m planning to return to school for a professional development certificate program. I haven’t taken classes since business school so let’s hope I haven’t forgotten how to do this!
Your turn…what would you tell me over coffee?
Welcome to Fit Five Friday!

Congrats on the new car!!! It’s so exciting, isn’t it? There’s such a learning curve, though. So many bells and whistles.
I was interviewed for that article as well, but I don’t think my story was very exciting, lol. I had it removed and end of story.
So many bells and whistles – seriously there are so many buttons I haven’t figured out yet lol
Interesting about the article – I didn’t think my story was very exciting either…I wonder how they decide which interviews to use.
Congrats on the new car. There’s something so wonderful about that new car smell. I got one last summer and I still love her! I’d completely forgotten about WR mag. I’ll go check out the article now. Crazy how they found you! Hope you enjoy school!
Thanks – I’m just loving the car! I keep joking that they should bottle that new car smell.
You’ve had a lot of excitement happening! I’m due for a new ride myself, but haven’t even begun the search (the hubby has, though, LOL).
The car hunt did get better once I narrowed down the brand/model I wanted. THe supply chain issues are just crazy!
It just goes to show that you never know who is reading your blog! That’s wonderful Michelle, well done! Also congrats on that car – that looks like a beautiful ride!
Thanks Shathiso…and you are so right, you never know who’s reading 🙂
Congrats on the car and good luck going back to school! Is it an in-person or on-line program?
Very cool on the interview, and how they found you.
The program is online through Cornell which hopefully will make it more manageable with my work schedule.
Congrats on the new car.
That’s funny. I was interviewed a while back by good housekeeping about my feet because of my blog. Pretty cool.
That’s great that you’re going back to school. That’s the challenge about my job. I have to learn new things. This brain is not getting any younger. I am sure you will do fine.
That’s pretty cool about the Good Housekeeping article.
The certificate program should be a great challenge – I haven’t been in a classroom in years!
How long is your certification program? I have to take CEUs every two years to renew my license, but it’s usually only one or two days of a class. It’s fun to learn something new.
That’s great news on the car! We have to buy a car for my son this summer and it’s going to be a huge hassle- not looking forward to it.
That’s cool about the article- when they contacted you, you must have been like “Huh?” 2015 is a long time ago!
The program is about 2 months long if I stick to the 3-5 hr pace each week. And I agree, it is fun to learn something new.
Buying a car can be a stressful process, but I’m happy that overall this process wasn’t too bad. I hope you have good luck this summer!
going back to school will be fun! Can’t wait to hear more. I will head over and check out the article now, My mom had really bad fibroids and had a hysterectomy in her 40’s! I don’t think they do that anymore?enjoy the new car
I think returning to the classroom will be fun! I can’t wait to dive in.
Congrats on the new ride! I really am putting off buying a new car as long as possible.
I have a subscription to Outside via Yoga Journal –I’ll try to check out the article!
It seems like I’m always taking classes! Good luck with yours. You’re gonna be busy!
Thanks Judy! It’s definitely going to keep me busy but I’m looking forward to it.
Congrats on the new car! That is exciting about going back to school. How long is the program?
Thanks Zenaida! The program should run for a couple of months so I’m hoping to wrap up before the summer months.
I’m glad you found a new ride! :] Car shopping can be so stressful!
Best of luck with the classes you’re taking! I kinda miss taking classes but am way too swamped these days, sadly. Maybe when I go part-time someday(?)!
