For as long and drawn out as January felt, February has been just the opposite! This was definitely a week with all the seasons as we started out with a taste of Spring and finished with inches of snow on the ground.
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Here’s how Week 8 played out:
Week 8 – Running Down February
Monday — 5K & Stretch. Mondays are usually a strength day, but hello, 55 degrees! The weather (as you can see from the photo above) was just a gift.
Tuesday — Flash 15 Full-Body Strength, Core, Glutes & Legs, & Stretch.
Wednesday — Another 5K, Core & Stretch. Long sleeves and shorts weather again!
Thursday — Yoga. I woke up feeling oh so creaky so I stacked 3 10 min Peloton yoga classes focusing on hips, hamstrings, and core.
Friday — A Tribe Called Quest Ride, Upper Body Strength & Stretch. I love a Tribe Called Quest’s music and Robin put together a great playlist for this ride!
Saturday — 5 miles, Core & Stretch. After Friday’s snow & ice storm, the roads were in pretty dicey conditions so I made my longest mill run in quite a while. I stacked a couple of Peloton runs to help pass the time, including Chase’s A Tribe Called Quest Run. I took a page from Kim’s book, and celebrated with a little cryotherapy post-run 😉
Sunday — Debating between a run or a ride. I did not sleep well at all and I am seriously dragging this morning so the question of whether I get my 4th run of the week done or opt for the bike is up in the air.
As I roll into March, I’m still figuring out my goals for the month. The week ahead should be fairly busy and the forecast shows that Mother N will be playing nice. As I mentioned in my runfessions, I’m so over wearing all the layers! But with things at work getting busier, I’m going to have less flexibility to chase the warmer temps. I just need Spring to get here!
How was your week? Enjoying any spring-like weather? Any races on the horizon?
We haven’t been treated to any 50s yet but I’m hopeful they’ll show up this week. I need to follow your and Kim’s lead and try some cryotherapy! Haha!
No cryotherapy here! It’s been in the 80s during the day- luckily low to mid 60s early in the morning so running still feels comfortable.
I agree- January dragged on forever, but February flew by. Even in Florida February feels like a “blah” month, so I think we’re all ready for March!
We haven’t had much warm weather here at all! I get my cryotherapy out on my runs. Today was the best day we’ve had all month. Sunny! 40s! Glorious. I’m going to keep upping my miles during March in anticipation of my 15 mile trail race in April. I’m wrapping up March with 85 miles. Feels good to be back!

Well, mid 50s does pass for spring like here, LOL! Right now it’s most definitely Winter.
Love the little water feature — that would definitely brighten my day!
Hope whatever you chose today felt good, Michelle.
I started my run in winter temps today only to end in the 50’s. I totally over dressed! We are in for another week of that as well. I have no doubt you will figure out your new work and workout schedule to make it all fit in. Have a great week ahead
I’m glad the cryotherapy was a success! What started out as a revolt against a forced Milly run has turned into a welcome “treat” following my treadmill time. Whodda thunk! We had afternoon temps in the 40F’s here, and the wind was mild (I shouldn’t even type that #jinx). I got our for a 4.4-mile walk with a friend 😉
Cryotherapy is running outdoors for me.
After Fridays snowstorm I got lucky with sunshine in NYC. Not warm. But I’m not complaining.
No more halfs until April 16. Will I still be motivated to get out and run? It’s hard. Can’t wait until spring.
Oh, I need to do Robin’s TCQ ride! I did Chase’s run and loved the playlist. You had a solid week!
I always feel that January feels MUCH longer than February as well. Maybe it’s the feeling that we’re headed for lighter ad warmer times?
You certainly had some change in the weather. If there was no explanation I wouldn’t believe that they were all taken in the same month, let alone the same week!

Totally agree with you about January feeling like the never ending month but February going by in the blink of an eye. the weather is certainly not helping either!
The A Tribe Called Quest classes were pretty cool!
I have zero goals. My knee hasn’t been cooperating, and it looks like it might be a tendonitis thing (thanks to Meghan and Wendy for confirming what I didn’t want to know). So now, it’s time to build strength in my glutes and hips and all that stuff. Boo.
