Mother Nature gave us a run for our money this past week with a heavy dose of winter weather, so this week was all about working around the snow and ice. Here’s a quick peek at my week.
Monday — 3-mile run, day 1 of the enCore28 challenge (10 min core) and 10 min stretch class.
Tuesday — 20-min Peloton ride, 20-min core, and 10-min stretch. And, there was shoveling.
Wednesday — Day 3 of the core challenge with a 10-min core class, otherwise a rest day.
Thursday — 20-min Peloton ride, 10-min core, 10-min strength, and 10-min stretch. I had a run planned, but thanks to frigid temps the streets were just too icy. This stack of classes was a great alternative and my favorite workout of the week!
Friday — 3 miles on the mill and 15-min core. An episode of The Home Edit helped to pass the time. I’m so thankful we finally installed a small TV above the treadmill!
Saturday — 4 miles, 10-min core, and 10-min stretch. It was a bit warmer than it had been the past couple of days so I was determined to run outdoors. I definitely found some patches of black ice along the way but managed to stay upright. (Maybe the core work is paying off?)
Sunday — Right now coffee but I plan on a 30-min ride, core, either a short stretch or yoga class later.
Another snowstorm is heading this way today and there’s more snow and freezing rain in the forecast for later this week, so it looks like I’ll be spending some quality time on the mill…or riding a lot more.
So how was your week?

It was definitely a challenging week of weather! Its been snowing here today but actually hasn’t been sticking to the streets much. But between the cold temps and more snow/ice this week I have a feeling I will also be spending more time with my treadmill.
We got a foot of snow here Sunday with more on the way!
Same weather here and it has been a challenge. I have been running outside on the roads or using my bike inside.
Today I planned to hike…hoping the snow will stop.
Pretty impressive week of workouts for you!
Thanks Darlene! This week’s weather looks even more challenging…I’m ready for spring 🙂
Great week of workouts Michelle! The weather this week has been very “winterlike” – it’s even snowing again right now – sigh!
I’ve heard some colorful language around Matty’s core challenge lol. I imagine by now that everyone must have super sore abs. I’m not doing the challenge this time but will probably do it at some point!
Oh, there was definitely some colorful language with this challenge LOL!
Way to get in a sold week despite the weather challenges! Loving the encore 28 challenge however today’s class was my least favorite so far. Stay warm!
I am liking the challenge but I know what you mean – I’m not sure what was going on with some of the moves in today’s workout.
I’m so sorry about all the ice. The ice has really missed us, and we’ve even had a few not so windy days and some sun so I’ve been able to run outside!
You’re doing a great job keeping active in trying times, Michelle.
Thanks Judy! I hope the weather continues to cooperate for you.
I need to get our TV moved into my room I will be exercising in – both to stream Peleton stuff and for entertainment when on the cross-trainer. Esp as we have more snow coming ourselves here this week. It’s hard to keep active in the snow and ice and you’re doing well!
Yes, move the TV! Having the TV is certainly helping to make the treadmill a bit more tolerable for me. Have you signed up for Peloton?
I have, and I’ve watched a stretch class! But my bluetooth headphones arrived today (I live in a terraced house so I feel I need the instructors in my ears, not in the room) and moved the cross trainer back round the right way, then got distracted by moving my husband’s old monitor into my office! I also looked at a bike ride class and the instructions look doable for my cross trainer so all good. Cari made friends with me on it but I have no idea how all that works …
This challenge sounds intense! I love sore abs though, it’s hard to get that!
The winter weather has not been kind this week!
The weather has definitely not been kind and it looks like we have more snow and ice on the way. Stay safe!
I’d say winter has really thrown us all for a loop! I’m not loving the TM runs but it’s there for a reason, right? Stay safe Michelle!
So true – it’s good to at least have the treadmill as an option.
Snow and ice just about sums it up! Anytime that the temperature gets above freezing we just have another storm and nothing to get rid of the ice that we already have. On the plus side I’m getting caught up on my TV watching on the mill!

I have a feeling I’m going to be binge-watching a lot over the next couple of weeks!
Momma N did not play nice this week, did she! Milly got to entertain me three days in a row…and I’m not hoping for a repeat, but this next week is looking pretty cold as well. I ‘m glad you were able to get outside for a bit!
We’re expecting more snow here this week. Stay warm Kim!
I look at the 3 degree temps in our town and thank my lucky stars we made it to Florida before it got really cold. It’s 79 here today. Sending you warm vibes!
Oh nice – enjoy that warm weather!
After a pretty mild January, February is certainly proving to be challenging for those of us wanting to get outside for our runs and walks. Great job getting it done on your treadmill and Peloton, Michelle!

Thanks Debbie 🙂
We had a lot of pretty snow today, but it came after a night of rain and then it got sunny, so it didn’t last. Nice workout schedule this week! Now that the Year of Yes series is over, I hope Shonda gets back to making more Grey’s Anatomy episodes for me to watch. 😉
We didn’t get so lucky with the snow – over a foot here! Too funny about Grey’s 🙂
Ha ha, a TV about the treadmill sounds like the best possible thing that could have happened! Sounds like you’ve got more watching coming up this week.

Oh yes – looks like I’ll have no problem catching up on my favorite shows!
Eek! More snow??? Where are you going to put it???
At least you have all your Peloton workouts to keep you going and warm inside.
We had about 1/2″ of frost on all the cars and roofs the other day and that was just nuts!
I am so happy to have both the bike and mill to help pass the time…when is spring?!
So many of us are writing about the snow and weather. At least we are still staying active whether on the treadmill or the bike. Be careful out there. Black ice is no joke.

We, runners, do what we have to do, right? 😉
seems like the theme for most last week was indoor workouts! great that you got out a couple times though! running in the snow doesn’t appeal to me at all right now. I guess I’m just mostly afraid to hurt myself.
Fingers crossed we can ALL get outside soon!!
I don’t blame you – I have a healthy fear of black ice! The forecast isn’t looking very promising…I’m counting the days till spring 😉
February is making it’s mark in the snow department here too. Too bad it doesn’t happen in December instead! Glad you got that TV to entertain you on the treadmill. It’s a sanity saver!

Seriously, now that we have the TV set up I wonder how I ever made it through a run without it!
