Oh hello, Friday!
For the first time since this year began, I feel like this week has clicked by pretty quickly – a nice change! I’m ready for the weekend so let’s get things started by joining Deborah and Coco for a little catch up over coffee. So grab a mug of your favorite beverage and join us!
Over coffee, I would tell you that it’s been a week since my son returned to campus and I have to admit that I miss him already. I’m still trying to get used to how quiet the house is without the noise that only two teenage boys can make together 🙂
Over coffee, I would tell you that my new show obsession is The Morning Show on Apple TV+. I have wanted to see this show since I saw the first promo but was not interested in adding another streaming service. Recently, my family all got new iPhones and among the bonuses we received was a free 1-year subscription to Apple TV+ – Win!
Over coffee, I would tell you, the past few weeks of work have been absolutely insane. On top of some long days, even the past two weekends have been hijacked by one fire or another. To say I need a break would be an understatement!
In the short-term, I’ll settle for a quiet weekend!
What would you tell me over coffee?

Work has been crazy for me too, but luckily nothing major happens over the weekend. I just use that time to catch up on work I didn’t get done during the week! Hope you can relax and get some time to yourself this weekend!
Thanks Lisa – it was nice to finally unplug a little.
We are loving The Morning Show! We also loved Ted Lasso. It’s nice to have so many good offerings for streaming right now.
I hope things slow down for you! Have a great weekend.
The Morning Show is so good – I can’t wait for Season 2! I’ll have to check out Ted Laso.
Work has been a bit on the slow end for me, which is good because one of our sales reps thinks he’s the only rep (forgetting there are 10 others who want their quotes back just as quickly). I’m ready for a quiet weekend, too 🙂
I hope you got that quiet weekend!
Sorry work has been so insane lately. That sucks when it hijacks your weekend. I totally feel you on having your son back to campus. I’m beyond excited to see Maddie this weekend!
Sometimes I feel like the Universe is trying to tell me something about the job situation 😉 Enjoy your time with Maddie!
Yes. Work is crazy and I am taking a break. So needed.
I don’t have Apple TV. I started Firefly Lane on Netflix. A chick flick. Which is what you need sometimes.
Hope things get better at work. Enjoy the weekend.
It’s so nice that you have a getaway coming up – a chance to unplug from work like that sounds ideal!
Hah! I bet your house is a lot quieter! My work exploded recently too. I have to put in 1/2 days over the weekend just to stay afloat — I guess it’s good I’m not missing out on doing anything?
Ugh I hope work quiets down for you too soon!
Oh boy- my son is a senior in high school this year- I’m already looking ahead to next year and missing him even though he’s not gone yet!
I hope you get your quiet weekend!

Gotta enjoy every moment with them while they’re home, right? 🙂
oh yes the Morning Show was good! Excited for the next season. The house is really quiet when they go back to school. I miss my kids a lot! It’s also a lot less messy in the kitchen so there’s that 🙂 Hope your week is not as stressful! Thanks for joining for coffee!
Ha my oldest likes to cook so I hear you on the messy kitchen 😉
I also loved The Morning Show and cannot wait for season 2. I need to see if they have a release date for that yet!
I’m also ready for a break/vacation but with nowhere to go I just keep working, lol. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good staycation, but it’s starting to get boring, lol
Oh I hear you…I miss traveling!
I think I read somewhere that season 2 will release in March – I can’t’ wait to see where they go with it!
Working through the weekends is the worst! I hope that you catch a break soon.
It’s so hard dealing with a quiet house once you’re used to more commotion (although I enjoy a quiet house, LOL!).
I do miss the chaos but he’ll be home for spring break in 6 weeks 😉
My work has been really busy, too! Weekends less so because we’re in a deep freeze! I hope things calm down soon!
Thanks Erica
Also nutso at work but not like what you’ve been dealing with!! ugh!
I also got an Apple + sub with my new phone but we haven’t looked at it yet! Maybe I’ll check it this weekend. We’re Netflxers all the way.
I’m looking for a good Netflix show – what are you watching?
Ooh, I also have a year subscription that I got when I got a new iPad. I’ll have to check out that show.

It’s a good show! Let me know if you decide to watch.
Remind me but how far away did your son go away? I dislike working on the weekends but I know sometimes it has to be done. Hope you get some rest soon.

Luckily he’s just a couple of hours away, and he’ll be home in March for spring break…I just love it when everyone’s home under one roof!
Right now, I would give anything for a she-shed. Just for peace and quiet.
I loved The Morning Show. It was so awful (subject matter), but so important and well done. Steve Carrell has really evolved as an actor, too.
Carrell was amazing – hard to believe that was the same guy who played the 40-year old virgin LOL!
There’s nothing more frustrating than fighting fires at work! Hope things ease a bit or you get that much needed break!
Thanks Shathiso – it does get tiring!
I hope work calms down for you soon! I can definitely relate on the multiple subscriptions thing–I’ve worked it out to a “friendship bingo” type of deal though where I supply Amazon Prime, my friend supplies Netflix, another supplies Hulu, and another has HBO. Glad you found a nice bonus on a free year’s subscription! :]
“Friendship Bingo” – that’s a clever way to do it 🙂
Sorry you are missing your son! My youngest son was kind of lost when his 2 older brothers left for school. It was a lot quieter and I bought a lot fewer groceries! I hope this weekend is quiet for you!
Thanks Laurie – it was nice to get a little break.
