Happy Friday!
While I’ll admit with the stay-at-home orders in place it can feel a bit like the days are blurring together, I still like to celebrate Fridays. It’s the end of the workweek, it’s “pizza night,” and, in general, I welcome the change in the rhythm of the days that the weekend brings.
I’m kicking off this weekend by joining Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date, so grab a mug of your favorite hot beverage, and let’s chat.
May Ultimate Coffee Date
Over coffee, I’d tell you that Running with Attitude turned 10 this week! If you had told me when I sat down to write this post that 10 years later I would still be at it, I seriously would have thought you were crazy. Back then it was just a place for me to record my thoughts and progress as I attempted to become a runner. Along the way, blogging has afforded me some fun opportunities, and, best of all, it has introduced me to some great people.
Over coffee, I would also tell you that ironically, I have been having so much trouble with WordPress lately that blogging has really become a challenge. Honestly, I cannot watch another YouTube video trying to DIY my way through the various roadblocks I’ve encountered. I’m going to have to find affordable tech support to clean up this mess or this blog may not see 11!
Over coffee, I would tell you that I recently discovered the video messaging app Marco Polo. For those of you, like me who had never heard of the app, it allows you to send video messages to friends and family and they can view and respond when they want to – it’s kind of like video text messages. In this age of social distancing, it’s been a nice addition, especially when you just want to send a quick message vs. coordinating a Zoom call or FaceTime.
Over coffee, I would tell you that I am starting to wonder how much longer I can go without a haircut. With salons here still closed for at least a few more weeks, the question is do you live in a permanent ponytail or attempt a self-trim?
What would you tell me over coffee? Have you ever tried cutting your own hair? What technology are you using to stay connected?
Congratulations on your 10th anniversary! That’s an achievement!
I always have problems uploading photos on WordPress. It’s really annoying.
Fortunately, our hair salons have reopened this week! But I still haven’t gone!
Happy blogoversary.
I just realized that I forgot mine. The pandemic has taken over my mind.
My nails oh my. ANC gone bad. I won’t talk about my roots. It’s a good thing I work from home.
When does your state open?
Happy Blogaversary!!! I feel you on the technology issues. I’m not having blog issues per se but the spam is just ridiculous!
I can deal with the length of my hair but the roots…
Friday night is pizza night here too! Enjoy!
Congrats on 10 years! Wow! that’s quite the milestone.
I would never, ever cut my own hair. It would be a total disaster. I once went about 5 months. Usually I’m not that bad, but it was while I was going back & forth to my parents so much.
I hadn’t heard of Marco Polo!
Congrats on the huge blog milestone! Not many of us old schoolers left. I need a haircut something fierce. I trimmed my daughter’s hair but mine is layered so I doubt it’s wise for her to reciprocate.
I think we’re all wondering about the fate of our hair LOL I’m not minding my new look (or maybe I’m just so used to seeing all the darkness…), but a trim is definitely in order. I’ve cut my bangs myself (many times), but it’s not the bangs that need the most attention right now. The hubby convinced me to “have at it” with a clipper on him last weekend, so he’s good for awhile. We’ve been doing chips-n-guaq on Firdays (and last week we added in a ZOOM call with friends).
Oh my hair is just out of control. Not sure how I feel about going to the salon when they finally do open. Good news is no one is seeing it! Congrats on 10 years of blogging! I had to get some prof help to clean mine up too bc it had too many probs for me to deal with. Thanks for joining for coffee!
Congratulations on 10 years of blogging! Time sure does fly. Bummer on the WordPress issues though. I know some updates have messed up some old posts, but I don’t have time/energy to fix it.
Wow! You have been blogging for 10 years? That is an impressive accomplishment. Your running has come so far in those 10 years too! Thanks for the info on Marco Polo. I will check that out. Sounds cool!
And sorry to read about the WP issues. Technology is so frustrating when we can’t get it to work correctly. Ugh!

That’s so awesome! Happy belated-ish blogiversary!! :] My blog used to be my online journal where I just dumped all my kitchen experiments/thoughts while I was in school, haha. I love that it’s introduced me to so many great people too!
I only cut my hair once every 1-1.5 years, so I still have another 6 months to go before my ponytails get too heavy and cause headaches! I’m vaguely curious about learning to cut my own hair though!
Congrats on 10 years of blogging – that’s awesome! I’m sorry to hear that you are having website issues. I know how completely frustrating that can be 🙁
I totally agree with you about the haircut. My split ends are screaming at me but I’m just trying to hide them, lol. We’re supposed to be opening back up some business during “stage 1” of the re-open process on May 20. Salons are part of stage 1 but I won’t be going – I don’t feel like its safe enough just yet.
Congratulations on the anniversary, but sorry WordPress is being difficult. I am still using the old dashboard and not having problems but really I should move to being self-hosted but can’t face it! I am OK for hair at the moment and I’m so glad I’ve spent the past 10 ish years cutting my husband’s – I really hate doing it even though it’s only clipping it short, but I’m so glad I know how to do it! Hope you find a solution. Mine is long and is having to go into bunches for running or it gets everywhere!
Happy anniverary! I hope you are able to sort through the tech obstacles. It can be so daunting.
I don’t like Marco Polo because I hate being on video. I feel so awkward. We used to use it in a group of friends, but it was hard for me to keep up with.
We had pizza last night. Little man made it from scratch and it was fantastic.
