Happy Sunday my friends!
Everywhere we turn it feels like all Corona news all the time – it can feel overwhelming to say the least. And, while I fully admit that at times I have just wanted to pull the covers over my head, keeping up with my workouts has helped to keep the craziness at bay.
Here’s how this week’s workouts went down:
Monday — Rest day
Tuesday — Strength workout with resistance bands
Wednesday — 3.8-mile run
Thursday — Yoga
Friday — 2-mile power walk
Saturday — 4-mile run plus #see10do10 pushup challenge (Thanks to Pam for tagging me)
Sunday — I’ll be heading out soon for another power walk, followed by a T25 core workout.
Focusing on the positive…
With the Portland 10 Miler finally conceding this week and moving the race to a to-be-determined date in the fall, I’m making the adjustment to having no training plan for a while. On the positive side, this will give me a chance to focus on PT exercises. It’s also nice to just run without any focus on prescribed distances or paces.
I’m also enjoying the positives of having both boys home! My husband J is also working from home so we’re really embracing the extra family time. We’ve enjoyed some spirited games of Monopoly and Mario Party, watched some movies and enjoyed lots of laughs over meals.
This was supposed to be the beginning of week 2 of their spring breaks, but both schools have now tacked on an additional week of break before online classes begin in April. Thankfully, we picked up a wi-fi extender to help counter a couple of dead zones in our house so when the time comes we can spread out to the four corners of the house and take care of work and classes.
So tell me how was your week? What positives are you focusing on?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
Thank goodness for the workouts keeping us sane.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been more grateful to be able to workout!
Not gonna lie, I absolutely love being at home with my family. I feel like the trend is for the 4 of us to go into our separate spaces during the day and then meet up for lunch and afternoon breaks.

It’s great that you’re enjoying the family time – I know for us having separate spaces to go to throughout the day really helps!
Glad you could get in some good workouts to keep you sane! Running definitely helps.
It sure does!
Yes, the fitness is keeping all of us going 😉 The big positive I’m grasping onto during this is that it will not last forever, and I think we’ll come out of this much more grateful for all our blessings. The extra family time at home is a definite bonus 😉
The extra family time is a wonderful bonus. I’m trying to make the most of it!
One of the positives I’ve found is that people actually seem a lot friendlier! I mean, we are distancing, but in a nice way. 🙂
That’s great that you have the extenders — you’re going to need them! Even with extenders I still have trouble doing stuff in the bedroom. Maybe that’s a good thing.
Great job keeping up with working out, Michelle!
Thanks, Judy – keeping up my workouts is really helping me to feel more in balance.
The workouts really do help with the over all stress level don’t they?! So grateful for the physical ability to continue and for our fantastic community. Have a great week ahead and stay well!
I think I would really be struggling to navigate all of this without the workouts. And, I love how supportive is 🙂
What would we do without technology? I’m so grateful for being able to work at home and to stay in touch with everyone! Running is the cherry on the sundae!
I so agree Wendy!
I’m glad that all of your guys are home and that you’re able to enjoy a lot of extra family time!

The extra family time has been a great bonus!
Monopoly is great at times like this. Glad you have such a good attitude. I upgraded our wi-fi since my husb and I both work over VPNs — we’ll see if works tomorrow.
Hope the wifi upgrade works for you!
This. Was. The. Longest. Week. Ever.
So it was our Spring Break week and we did absolutely nothing short of watch news, get groceries and hang out at home. It’s fairly terrible.
I had to stop PT, so I am working on my own recovery at home. Lots of walks and exercises in the house. It’s not a lot of fun.

It was a long week for sure. Sorry about your PT – I was supposed to start PT this week but we know that’s not happening 🙁
Enjoy the family time 🙂 I’m especially glad we have the unlimited data plan on our internet service now! I also need to get back to my PT now that spring races are cancelled.

Oh I’m so thankful for the unlimited data plan!
I don’t think I’ve ever been as grateful for running as I am now. I feel like I’m in some sort of eerie sci-fi altered universe. I’m clinging to the family time and positives.
Gotta keep focusing on those positives, right?!
Definitely, we will run again soon but right now we need to appreciate that we can be with our loved ones who are safe and healthy! Keep safe!
