Each month I like to set a couple of monthly goals to help me stay on track. So with October now in the rearview mirror, it’s time to share some goals for November.
But first, I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
Weekly Run Down
Monday — Strength training
Tuesday — 3 soggy miles
Wednesday — Rest
Thursday — 3 miles. Wrapping up October with 63 miles.
Friday — Strength training and the start of a new plank streak
Saturday — 3 more miles on a gorgeous morning!
Sunday — Got a brisk morning walk with my husband and pup before settling in to watch the NYC Marathon.
November Goals
A new month means new goals! What are you planning? #goals #last90days #runchat #keepshowingup Share on X- Plank Streak — I’ve been really inconsistent in my core work, so I’m going to use daily planking to build some consistency.
- Clean up my eating — Honestly, I’m still eating like I’m running all the miles! LOL! It’s time to reel it and get back on track.
- Cross Training 2x’s/week — I’ve been itching to try OTF, and with less weekly mileage on my plan, it feels like a good time to try it out.
- 2020 race planning — WIth just one more race on the calendar for this year, I’m going to start sketching out what next year could look like.
How was your week? Did you watch the NYC Marathon? Any November goals?
Sounds like you did a nice job this week. I am intrigued by OTF as well–if I wasn’t doing CF, I’d be all over it!
An OTF studio opened not too far from me not too long ago and I’ve been dying to try a class.
I love that you’re thinking of trying OTF. You will need to let me know how you like it!
I also need to get my nutrition under control because I am still eating like I’m running 30+ miles a week.
I’m planning to stop by the OTF studio this week to get my free class scheduled – looking forward to it!
I’ll be curious to see how OTF goes for you! I wish we had that here. Yay for planking!!!!!
An OTF studio finally opened near me this summer, but I figured it was better to hold off until marathon training was done.
I’m sort of bummed I missed seeing NYCM this year but the gym took precedence this morning. Have fun with the plank streak and I can’t wait to hear what you think of OTF.
I’m hoping this plank streak will get me started on more core work – I’m feeling so mushy in the middle…sigh.
I am glad to see you taking a proper recovery. Good luck with OTF looking forward to seeing how you like it
I think taking recovery slow and steady is paying off – so far I feel really good with no aches & pains (knock on wood!)
Sounds like a great week and great goals for November.
I’ll talk about November goals on Tuesday. Couldn’t watch the marathon between travel & being up to my eyeballs in sorting through my parent’s stuff.
I hear you on the food! Always hard to reign it in when you haven’t been running as much.
Yep – I need to keep reminding myself that I’m only running 9 – 12 miles/week these days and not 30.
Love those running shoes, so pretty!
Always good to set some goals to keep the motivation up, especially now that we’re into the no-sun months!
Definitely – I find even just having a couple of mini-goals helps me to avoid the slide.
Cutting back on the food is a tough one when coming off of a marathon plan! Back to reality, right? We watched the NYC Marathon too. A good way to spend a few hours relaxing on a Sunday!
Always fun to watch the marathon – makes me want to run another one!
I didn’t watch the marathon but I did watch the tracker for Cari and my running clubmate Grace! A good week for you and good plans. I am waiting to see if I got into London Marathon before I can firm up my race plans for next year, as I have a sort of “if x then a, if y then b” type of arrangement to think about, revolving around doing two of three marathons in the year (shhh don’t tell my husband. This is me “not doing any more races”).
When will you hear about London? Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
A plank challenge sounds great! I’m also working on staying more consistent with core work this month. Good luck with your goals!
Thank you Lisa 🙂
great goals!! I’m with you on the nutrition and cross training. I’m all about cross training these days haha!
we did watch the marathon and then ended up seeing our guys on a youtube livestream! So cool to see them running when they are half way across the world!
That’s so fun that you got to actually see your friends on the live stream!
Good job last week. You’ve got great November goals. I haven’t set any other than to stay as injury-free as possible (at my age, that’s become an ongoing goal).
We watched much of the NYC Marathon, but had to leave to run errands before it finished.
Injury-free is always a good goal!
I love this!! After a big race (marathon in particular) I tend to keep eating like I’m still running all.the.miles…what’s a little holiday weight gain tho? Gives us something to work on in the new year ;-P Love your goals!! You’ve inspired me to set some. Being pregnant I’ve just kinda let go of goals and things…
Well I think being pregnant does sorta change things, right? 😉
Woohoo! So glad you are liking Orangetheory. There’s no turning back now. 😉 it’s great your runs are going so well post-marathon If only Mother Nature would cooperate!
I’m so excited to finally have an OTF nearby!
