Happy Friday!
It is Friday, right? Coming off a long weekend I swear I lose track of what day it is! It’s time for a little catch-up over coffee so I’m joining Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date.
September Ultimate Coffee Date
Over coffee, I would tell you that having time off from work at the end of August was just what the doctor ordered! I was starting to feel absolutely fried. Having some time to step away, gain a fresh perspective, and just chill did me a world of good.
Over coffee, I would tell you that both of my boys started school this past week. We’re all trying to regain our “school rhythm”. I will admit it usually takes a week or two to really feel like we’re back in the groove.
Over coffee, I would tell you that it is starting to feel a lot like fall around here as the mornings and evenings have cooled off. I am loving it! I make no secret that fall is my favorite time of year – I am definitely a jeans, sweater, and boots kinda girl.
Over coffee, I would tell you how excited I am to have been selected as part of the launch team for the book The Joy of Missing Out. I’m a big fan of Tonya Dalton’s podcasts and YouTube videos, not to mention her InkWell Press planners, so I’m really looking forward to reading her book. JOMO is about letting go of the constant need to do more, and instead focusing on what’s most important to you. I’m all for that! My pre-launch copy is on its way now so I’ll be sure to share more once I get a chance to dive in. If you’re interested, you can pre-order here.
What would you tell me over coffee? Are you looking forward to fall weather?
I am not familiar with that author but sounds like a great book. Look forward to hearing more! Back to school time is always hectic but nothing beats the fall weather

I’ll definitely be sharing more about the book. And, yes, fall weather is the best!!
As you know, I’m a summer weather lover, but I do like fall (really, I do!). It’s a real drag that the cooler fall weather also brings with it the shorter days. It was still pretty dark when I headed out at 6:00 for my run this morning…#buzzkill Like you, though, I also love the jeans/sweater/boots 😉

I think the one drawback to the fall weather is those dark mornings. Makes it harder to get out of bed! LOL!
I haven’t heard about JOMO, but it is kind of how I live my live. I’m too tired to FOMO!

Too tired to FOMO – LOL – I can so relate 🙂
I agree with you about having time off at the end of August to recharge. My staycation was just what I needed to feel more energized – I was also feeling really rundown!
That book sounds really interesting! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it once you’ve read it!

A staycation can do a world of good, right?!
I haven’t heard of JOMO but it sounds interesting. The one (big) area I need to do less is work, so that’s sort of a catch-22. Is your oldest back at boarding school?

He’s back at school and, of course, I miss him already!
I am definitely needing some time off. Our vacations this summer were based around family events and a lot of flying to drive back and forth and visit these people and those people. While they were wonderful they were the kinds of vacations that leave you needing a vacation!
You have me looking at my calendar and thinking about booking a day or two off just for myself.
Oh I have had a lot of those types of vacations – they can definitely leave you needing some down time!
Glad you had some time off to rest and regroup. I haven’t heard of that book but it sounds like a great one. I love how it’s cooling down! Such a relief and it makes running a different animal.

These cooler days couldn’t have come fast enough! I don’t think I could have dealt with too many more runs in heat & humidity!
Ha – love the cover of that JOMO book! I’ve scaled down a bit since I’ve been unwell, but I am enjoying planning my next reading challenge for 2020 and thinking about a few other nice bits while trying to keep my life reasonably quiet. Well done for taking some time off, and yes, it’s definitely autumn here, now!

Isn’t it a great cover?! Really sums up the feelings of “too much to do!”
I’m glad you got to take a little break from work!! Fall is my second-favorite season (summer is first <3), which makes it a little easier to say goodbye to warm weather/sunshine.
JOMO actually reallyyyyy sounds like something I need to do–I always feel like I should be doing something!
I think this is going to be a great read! I’ll definitely be sharing more on this as I dive in.
