Snapping Out of Vacation Mode
After a glorious week in the tropics enjoying spring break with the family, this past week was all about getting back to reality. Here’s how the week went down…
Monday — Being layered up again was certainly a shock to the system! 2.25 mile run done.
Tuesday — Strength training with resistance bands
Wednesday — 3 miles to usher in the first day of Spring!
Thursday — Caught the sunrise and logged another 2 miles.
Friday — Rest day – I knew this was going to be a super busy day between work and errands getting ready for a big family dinner to celebrate my mom’s birthday.
Saturday — Mother Nature’s antics were in full effect on Saturday. I woke up to snow showers to which I announced (to no one in particular) that I was not running in that sh…um …stuff and went back to bed. The snow didn’t stick around long, but the winds were crazy so I swapped workouts and opted for yoga.
Sunday — Time to make up for Saturday’s run, so I got 3.25 miles in.
Overall, not a bad first week post-vacation. The weather forecast for the upcoming week looks like something loosely resembling spring so hopefully, there will be some decent outdoor running.
I’m joining Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down link-up.
Does it feel like spring where you are? Do you find it easy to return to a routine after being on vacation?
Way to get right back on track after your vacation! Hope the warm weather holds on for you too

Thanks, Deborah. It’s gotta warm up at some point, right?
Great week, Michelle! That return to reality is painful, especially when there’s such a drop in temps from the two locations. I’m hoping our return to Iowa tomorrow isn’t too much of downer. Thanks so much for joining us on the link-up 😉
I hope Mother Nature treated you kindly on your return 🙂
Welcome back! Your vacay pics looked soooo nice! Sorry it’s not nicer weather wise yet but it’s just…not. Ugh. Snow in the forecast here tomorrow.

We had such a great time on vacation – it really was hard to come back!
Isn’t so hard to return to reality after such a great trip? I totally feel you…and it looks like my run might be indoors tomorrow.. booooo….

Yeah, I am so over this winter weather! So glad you had a good time in Florida!
LOL, reentry after vacation is rough for sure! You did a great job. I do love those tights you wore for spring!
Happy b-day to your mom!

Aww thanks for the birthday wish for my Mom – we had a lot of fun celebrating her day.
And yes….the re-entry struggle is real! LOL!
Sorry that you had to come back to the crappy cold/windy weather 🙁 Glad that your vacation was great and awesome job on getting back to running and workouts.

Thanks Kim!
it is so tough coming back to reality when you return from vacation. Esp if you have to go from warm to cold.
Good job!!
The one good thing is that at least it’s warmed up enough that all the snow has melted.
Great job getting right back into the work out routine after vacation! I always find that week right after coming home to be tough too.

Thanks – I figured it was probably best to just dive right back in!
“Loosely resembling Spring” describes it nicely. I mean, it really depends on where you live, right? For us, so far, it’s fairly normal. As long as we don’t completely skip Spring like last year & go right into Summer I’ll be happy.
I do kind of like to return to routine after vacation but vacations are always too short, aren’t they?
Oh I agree – there’s nothing worse than having it go from cold to a summer blast. I feel like in the last couple of years we don’t get the clear seasons (at least not here in New England).
Sounds like a good week. Great work!

Thanks, Chris.
Getting back into a routine after vacation can be so hard. Re-entry is never easy. We may have some spring like weather this week. Fingers crossed as last week we had a surprise snowstorm which was a huge bummer although the skiing has still been really great.

I cannot believe there was more snow this week! Glad you got to enjoy some more skiing 🙂
To be honest, I didn’t get much of a vacation. Little man was home for two weeks due to a nasty infection we couldn’t shake. Mr PugRunner was recovering from bronchitis, etc, etc, etc.
Now that it’s over, and little man is back to school and Mr PR is back in the office, I may be able to get some of that $&$ in between work gigs.

Oh man…sorry everyone was sick. Glad everyone’s on the mend!
It’s been so nice around here lately! I’m never ready to get back to a normal routine after a vacation. I love doing fun things all the time haha.
IT would be great if vacation could go on for a while longer!
Well done getting back into it and I love your leggings! It’s quite spring-like here as there’s lots of fruit blossom going on.

I’m jealous of your spring temps! Hopefully, we’ll start seeing some better weather here soon.
It sucks to be in warm weather for a week and then come back to cold weather.
Great job on your week back!
Thanks Zenaida!
Welcome back from vacation! Never easy to jump back in, especially when the weather is not a nice as vacation weather!
Way to get back on track and I hope spring comes for you quickly!
I hope so too! The forecast is showing signs of warmer temps later this week so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
