Happy Friday! And, hello November!
It’s time once again for one of my favorite link-ups – a time to dish a little about life happenings over a cup of coffee. So grab a mug of your favorite beverage and let’s join Coffee hosts Coco and Deborah and chat.
Over coffee, I’d tell you that we went out to visit my son at school for Fall Family Weekend last weekend, and had a great time! I continue to enjoy seeing him settling in and happy – does a momma’s heart a lot of good!
Over coffee, I’d tell you that I started a gratitude challenge on Instagram. I’ve been having a little bit of a pity party over the way my running’s been going (or not going) – combine that with work stress, election fatigue, etc. and I was just feeling the need for a bit of an attitude adjustment – And what better way than to focus on gratitude? So for the month of November, I’m doing a daily post on something I’m thankful for that day using #FocusingonGratitude. I’m hoping others will join in.
Over coffee, I’d tell you that I’m looking forward to taking on the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program with Amy C. I’ve heard such good things about this program and have been curious for a while. And, I’ve known Amy for years, so when I learned that she had become a certified coach I knew I wanted to give it a try.
Over coffee, I’d tell you that in the ongoing world of house projects, I’m driving myself crazy trying to find the right shade of gray for our bedroom! Seriously, how could there possibly be so many!? But I have decided one of the most fun jobs would be naming the paint colors.
Over coffee, I’d tell you that I cannot believe that in less than 60 days 2018 will be history. Despite my desire for time to slow down just a little, I feel like the pace at which the days are moving is increasing. I was surprised by some of the posts showing up in my Facebook feed from friends who couldn’t wait to be done with Halloween so they could put up Christmas decorations – wait, what?! While I love the holiday season, I’d like to ease into it – not dive in full force without a parachute!
What would you tell me over coffee? Are you in a rush to get to the holidays?
I’m also joining Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five linkup!
House projects..don’t get me started. Ours are still in the we need it stage…when will we have the time and money?
Gratitude is so important. We seem to complain about when is wrong not what is good.
I hear you on the time and money – I’m hoping to carve out enough time to get the painting done before the holidays. Wish me luck!
I think it is a bit too early for Christmas decorations. But I dont think it’s too early for Christmas shopping. I like to start early so I am not stressed closer to the time and I can enjoy the season. I can’t believe the user is almost over.
I’ve promised myself that I’m going to get an early start on the shopping – I hate feeling so rushed at the last minute.
I will be taking part in your IG challenge! I missed yesterday but will start it today 🙂 Thanks so much for doing this – my soul needs it!
I will be interested to know what you think of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program. I’m still on Weight Watchers till the end of the year but am always interested in trying new things.

Thanks for joining me! I will definitely be blogging about FWTFL – I can’t wait to get started!
Love the challenge. Thanks for reminding us to be grateful.
Thanks Sonja – hope you’ll join in!
I’m going to attack my garage this weekend and finally organize it! I also have to clean out the random dried leaves that have made their way in.
As with the holidays, I like to ease in as well. However, life has been so crazy for me lately that I totally forgot about Halloween and then it happened lol.

Good luck with your garage clean-up! I’ll probably be clearing leaves out of our yard – there are so many!
A word of caution with the color gray (and every possible “shade” of it)…I painted our bathroom several years ago, and the tile work (previous owner) looked neutral, but apparently had warm undertones. I had to take my gray paint back to the store about five different times so they could add more tints to it. The gray kept looking lavender with all the warm color reflecting on it. Truth LOL

The undertones are really the tricky part! I’m struggling to find a gray that works with the warm tones of our wood floors – it will make you crazy!
I can’t believe the year is winding down already!! Thanks for the mention 🙂. I’m super excited to share the program with you!

I’m really looking forward to it!
I am not ready for any holidays. I think mentally have to get through my birthday first. But Thanksgiving falls pretty early this year, so we do need to figure out what we’re doing for that — I think my son and his girlfriend should cook. 🙂
So glad you had a good visit with your son. It does mean a lot to see them doing so well.
I don’t have the discipline for daily gratitude posts, but I enjoy reading them.

Having your son do the cooking sounds like a great idea to me! 😉 We’re going to my brother’s so my cooking will be limited.
We need to do so much work on our house but my husband (the carpenter) doesn’t agree…how does that happen? Sigh….
Glad to hear things are going so well with your son!

I feel like our house projects are never ending – the joys of living in a 120 yr old house! LOL!
Hi Michelle! I so get the home project thing! We have been busy almost the entire year. It’s FINALLY starting to come together. Like, for example, I’m unable to unpack my boxes of dishes and put them in the new cupboard TODAY. Ron was busy the whole day yesterday putting it together. I have to say though, we found the perfect grays this summer for one of our rooms… but it was tough. Lots of hard discussion between the two of us at the paint store!
I am NOT ready for Christmas. Don’t even start! I think I’ll put a filter on facebook for at least a few weeks! ha!
interested in your FASTer way to fat loss – over coffee I’d also tell you I’m wanting to get leaner and stronger in the next year and am looking for a good way to do this.
I share your goal to get stronger and leaner – hoping this program will give me the jumpstart I need! I’ll keep you posted.
It’s crazy how quickly 2018 went by so quickly! Christmas decorations right after Halloween feels a bit rushed, haha. After Thanksgiving makes more sense to me!
I definitely need to practice more gratitude! I added a weekly section to my bullet journal so I could remind myself to do it more! :]
Yes I agree – after Thanksgiving would be better!
We painted our guest room grey. We love it. It would be fun to name paint colors but I would be terrible at that. I do like to see the names on my colored pencils. People are so creative.

I’m curious – which gray did you use?
I too am struggling with paint colors, for my kitchen, which has now carried over to my dining room (and I’m afraid then I’ll have to do the living room, ugh)
The daily gratitude post is such a great idea!

I think the carryover from room to room is one of the things that makes picking colors so hard.
I look forward to following your IG Gratitude Challenge.
It use to annoy me when everyone was all about Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving even took place. I thought Thanksgiving deserved to be it’s own holiday! However, Last year we put up one of our christmas trees on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and I loved getting in the holiday spirit a bit early, so I hope to continue the tradition…haha (and honestly, it was less stressful that way. Buy the time December came around I was all decorated and ready! -M
I really enjoy Thanksgiving and I just wish people wouldn’t rush past it. But, I bet it was nice to start December with your decorations already up.
On house projects, we have got the stage of making a list for our handyman. A massive list. Argh. And that’s before big things like painting the hall and landings. We’ve got to the point where things need re-doing, as we’ve been here 13 years, which is horrendous. MORE choices?

Oh I’m with you on the re-doing! We’ve been in our house 16 years so there’s lots of re-fresh needed!
