These past few days (weeks!) have been a blur – time for a quick catch up over coffee.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m declaring February my “do over” month. High hopes of getting out the gates fast on a number of things to start the year were derailed by being sick. The creeping crud has finally vacated our house and in it’s a wake is an over-flowing to do list!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that February is already off to a great start with the email I got yesterday inviting me back for my second year as a Skirt Sports Ambassador Captain! I absolutely love this company – not just for their cute and comfy clothes, but also for the positive community they foster among women. Their positive vibe and mission to encourage all women to push past their perceived limits really connects with me and I am looking forward to sharing the Skirt love again this year!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the college outreach to my oldest son has begun and I’m so not ready to think about it! There are daily mailings and email solicitations pouring in and meanwhile, I’m thinking were we not just celebrating him starting Kindergarten?! Someone please make the clock slow down!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m feeling the need to shake up my strength workouts a bit. I felt like I was making the most progress when I was working with a trainer so I’m on the hunt to find a new strength coach – unfortunately I’m now wowed by any of the trainers on staff at my gym so I’ve got to scout out other alternatives.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I cannot wait for the Super Bowl and a chance to see my Patriots bring home another Lombardi trophy! I think the whole 2-week build up is just too much – I’m looking forward to less talk and just playing!
So what would you tell me over coffee? Do you work with a trainer or do your own thing? Are you planning to watch the game?
I’m linking up with Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date.
I’m also linking up with Meranda, Lacey, and Rachel for the Friday Five.
Congrats! I am a skirt sports ambassador too.
I am looking forward to spring!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to you too Darlene! Here’s to another fun year with Skirt Sports!
Congrats on returning as a SS Captain! I hear you on the college thing. It’s intense. I’ve worked with trainers and now I have a CrossFit coach who kids my behind weekly. I love it though.

I could definitely use a little butt kicking for sure!
Congrats on being an Ambassador! I got chosen for the first time this year. I’m excited for the Superbowl too, but I am rooting for those birds! GO EAGLES!!!

Congrats on being selected Lacey!
I’m in Iowa, so our NFL fascination is not too intense. It seems we have Packers fans or Vikings fans…and they both hate each other LOL That said, the Superbowl is pretty much the only NFL game I watch, and I’m usually paying more attention to the commercials than the athletes (#mybad). Congrats on the ambassadorship!

It’s funny – I’m a trainer and coach myself, but I still occasionally like doing a session with a trainer or touching base with another coach. I think there’s something to be said for someone other than yourself to challenge you a bit!
Yep I so agree!
Congrats on reupping as a SS ambassador. You represent them well!
I was in your boat last year–our mail was full of college mailings. It was crazy. Now we are waiting for acceptance letters. He’s gotten a few and think he’s already decided but we are waiting to hear from a few more. His choices are $$ so he needs to up his scholarship game. Good luck with the process!

Aww thanks Wendy 🙂
That’s great your son’s already got some acceptances! Hope the scholarship side works out too!
Congrats on the skirts sport ambassadorship!

I think I can use a January do-over too! The ice cold weather kept me in and I wasn’t too disciplined with my home workouts either. Congrats on the Skirt Sports program. It sounds like a great company!

Here’s hoping February is a better month for both of us!
Congrats on being a SS ambassador again! They have great stuff. I started with a trainer last month and I love it! We work at a pace I would not go at alone. It is $$ though so I can’t do it long term, but I am glad I gave it a try!
It’s great that you’ve found a trainer that’s working for you!
Oh, it’s an exciting time for your son, but bittersweet for you. We’ll be watching the game and at least I will be cheering for your team. 😉

Congrats on continuing as a Skirt Sports Ambassador! Their clothes are so cute (and yay for comfort)! Good luck to your son on his college-decision-making process!

Congrats on the Skirt Sports ambassadorship! Time certainly goes by too fast. Glad you are over the crud… here’s to a productive February!

Thanks Vicki! Here’s to a great month!
It seemed like college applications were just so much easier back in my day — I do not envy you!
The crud seems to be revisiting here. So i am, indeed, drinking lots & lots of tea today.
Skirtsports is awesome. That is all. 🙂
I do do my own thing, but mostly it’s a $$ thing. Years ago I did work out with a personal trainer & it was fabulous. I hope you can find one you love!

Sorry the crud’s revisiting – keep drinking that tea!
With one out of college, one in college and one on the verge …I totally get it. It’s crazy how fast time flies!
Glad you guys are feeling better. Here’s to February being a happy and healthy month!

So glad you’re back as a fellow Skirt Sports Captain. Skirt Sports really is a special company in many ways, especially because of the people.
Glad you are feeling better, being sick is no fun. Oh, and no football for me…but, I know I can’t avoid the excitement and chatter about tomorrow. LOL!

Congrats on returning as a Captain! I’m a brand new PRO and I’m so excited!
I’m glad you are feeling better. This crud that has been going around has just been brutal!
I have a running coach and she is also strength coach certified so she builds me a program that includes both. If I didn’t have her, though, I’d probably just be doing my own thing.

Congrats on Skirt Sports!
And how great that your running coach is also a strength coach – ideal combo!
I’m all too familiar with the “take a nap because I have too much to do” thing. Hopefully, you get the motivation to tackle your to-do list soon. Congrats on becoming a Skirt Sports Ambassador Captain. Good luck finding a new strength coach. I’m too cheap and just do everything on my own at home.
Enjoy the game tonight!

Yeah that to do list will take a while but I’ll eventually get through it all 😉
Congrats on the Skirt Sports ambassadorship! I know a couple of other ladies who workout in nothing but their apparel, but have yet to give the line a try myself. Maybe I need to change that…

Michelle I’m sorry but your beloved Patriots are NOT getting another ring tonight – go Eagles!! LOL
February is a bit of a do-over month for me as well. Training has been going well but I’m getting some aches and pains that I want to take care of as marathon training gets even more intense!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets recently posted…Ultimate Coffee Date – February 2018
Sadly you were right about the Eagles 😉 Congrats!
Aww man, I’m so sorry you haven’t been thrilled with any of the strength trainers at your gym. Maybe you should consider an online trainer? Keep in mind that with most strength programs it takes at least six weeks to start seeing results. It’s a slog, for sure. Hang in there!

Congrats on your Skirt Sports Ambassadorship!
I was totally that dog in the meme today! So I can relate to you! I think wanting February as a do-over is the right first step!
I bet we’ve all felt like that dog in the meme at some point, right?
Congrats on being an ambassador captain! How cool!
I actually didn’t watch the game.
Took my time to do a few other things that needed to get done after caring for my sick hubby all week.
Glad your husband is feeling better…now you stay healthy!
Happy Do-Over Month! and congrats on Skirt Sports again!
I pretty much do my own thing these days. Ron (the hubs) follows strength training programs and we do those together, or I do stuff my my running trainer friend Vincent. After so long with so many trainers and programs I have a fairly good idea what I need to do. My new gym has pretty good trainers and I know I can always ask them for help when needed. If I could afford a PT I would definitely go for that though!!

Sounds like you’ve got lots of good options. Good luck now that training’s starting again for you!
