So I’m now two weeks into the “rebuilding” phase, and things are cranking along nicely. I’m joining Holly & Tricia for the Weekly Wrap – this is a great link up for support and motivation so if you post a weekly training recap, be sure to stop by and join in!
The week was a mix of runs and walks to keep my #RunNovemberChallenge streak going. The runs continue to be short with my longest run today of just 4 miles. While there was just a touch of soreness today, I think that was more due to being on my feet at a party last night than the run itself. Overall, the runs have been pretty much pain-free and that puts a big smile on my face. Even the quick drop to frigid temps can’t dampen my mood – I’m too happy to be running again to complain.
I also hit the gym twice with my friend E for a mix of kettlebells and weights. And, yes there was 5 mins of planks a day!
I also got some time in with my massage therapist for some active release work- always helps!
The upcoming week will be more of the same but hopefully with more miles. I’ve got my sights set on a couple of February races so if all continues to go well over these next couple of weeks, I may go ahead and hit the register button!
How was your week? Have you registered for any 2018 races yet?
I’m glad your program is going well so far! i missed one day of planking, but did plank after my race today. So far I’ve signed up for the Denver Half in May, and will be doing CUCB in April.

I think you’re getting hooked on half marathons 😉 I’ve got to check the date on CUCB – one of these years I’ve got to get there!
It’s so great to see you back running again. I know I’m complaining about the cold, but you put it all in perspective for me!

Thanks Wendy 🙂
Great job with your workouts this week! I have started to sign up for a few 2018 races but I haven’t pulled the trigger on all of them yet. If I do….I’ll be running 6 half marathons between April and June. Eeks!

Wow that’s a lot of half marathons! Can’t wait to see which ones you pick!
That’s great you are back running. Slow and steady. I have signed up for one race s far in 2018 because I had a coupon code.

Thanks, Lacey – it’s hard to be patient but I think it’s paying off.
Sounds like the re-building phase is going very well! Love that you are mixing in running and walking, that’s great. So far I’ve signed up for two races in 2018. I think next month I’ll take time to map out some racecations for next year.

I’m really hoping to get a racecation or two in as well – now the question is where?
Sounds like a great week. I should do the November challenge. Although I’ve already botched it. Maybe I’ll do the RW RunStreak.

I usually avoid streaking, but I liked that in this one you can run or walk – keeps me moving 🙂
Great week! I know you are so happy to be back running ….and pain free is always a treat! I’m trying really hard to keep my twice weekly strength training sessions going at the gym as well ….you’re a good motivator for me! Keep it up!

You’ve been doing a great job of getting to the gym! You’re motivating me!
I’m SOOO glad to see your rally back is going well! (maybe it’s all that planking?) 😉 Keep it up!
Thanks Kim!!
WOOHOO for no pain! Keep it up!
I’m keeping my fingers crossed 😉
Massages really do help, don’t they? It sounds like your rebuilding phase is working well! The only 2018 race I’ve signed up for is my hometown half marathon. Early registration was too cheap to pass on. I’m waiting to see how my body handles the usual training mileage before making any “big” decisions. Thanks for linking!
Yes massages have really been helping – worth the investment! There are a lot of good “early bird” specials on some races right now – tempting to register for everything! 🙂
Running is putting a big smile on my face lately too! Here’s to happy running for both of us

Great to hear you’re enjoying running again!
Great work!
I have a ton of races on the calendar for 2018. I am registered for the Best Damn Race Jax 10K, DONNA Marathon Relay, Gate River Run, Best Damn Race Orlando 10K + 5K Challenge and the Publix Savannah Women’s Half. I also want to throw in the race at the Daytona Speedway and a couple of more local runs.
Tis the race season for us.

You’ve got a fun line up of races planned!
Sounds like the rebuilding is going well for you. I’m currently in between training cycles, and now that I’ve recovered from running Chicago I’m trying to find the motivation to get going again. The cold is definitely making that harder than it should be!

It’s always hard right after a big training session to kick it into gear again. Have you decided what your next race will be?
Sounds like you are in a good groove. I hope the active release massage and your rebuild program keep you pain-free. Events: I’m signed up for the 7K (that’s altitude, not distance) Adult Getaway which is a 3 day skating camp in January. I want to compete with my program at one of the adult competitions in February but signup is not open yet.
