A quick check of my past posts shows I haven’t runfessed since July – How is that possible?! What are Runfessions you ask? A fun link-up hosted by Marcia from Marcia’s Healthy Slice where she encourages everyone to share their confessions about your runs, swims or gym time…a chance to cleanse your sweaty soul.
So here we go…
Runfession #1 — While I do rotate my shoes, more often than not I grab my Saucony Zealots ISO – love this shoe! And the miles have been adding up, so I thought I’d buy a new pair. The reviews on the ISO 2 are a bit of a mixed bag – (why do running shoe companies feel the need to mess with a good thing?!) So I’ve taken to scouring the web in search of the originals. I recently scored a new pair at half the price…I’m tempted to buy more and just hoard them away.
Runfession #2 — While I am really looking forward to running the #StripatNight in Vegas, my training mojo has gone MIA. The downside of running multiple races over the past couple of months is that I feel like I’ve been following a training plan for a long time…looking forward to just running for a while.
Runfession #3 — Of course, while I say I’m looking forward to taking a break from training, I’m already starting to map out my 2017 races. (Please tell me I’m not the only one!)
Runfession #4 — I look forward to running Sunday’s 5K with my son, but I confess that I miss the days when I could keep up with him. He’ll be waiting for me at the finish…
Runfession #5 — I miss my gym crazies! In the past I’ve shared stories of some of the more interesting characters/behavior I’ve observed at my gym. Well, of late things have been downright normal…and I must admit I’m bored. Gym crazies definitely help to keep it interesting and pass the time 😉
It's time for #Runfessions! Link up with @teamarcia and share! Share on XOK so now it’s your turn….what do you run-fess? Do you hoard shoes?
I’m also joining Rachel from Running on Happy and Lacey & Meranda from Fairytales and Fitness for the new Friday Five link-up!
LOL on your son being faster than you now. Yep, time to get used to that. Nothing wrong with stocking up on your favorite shoes – you’ll save money too!

Oh yeah so much faster. Guess I’ll just have to enjoy that he’ll at least suggest we do a race together 🙂
I totally hoard sneakers lol. My favorite sneakers are the Mizuno Wave Inspire 10’s and I purchased three pairs two years ago. I recently found 2 pairs (new!) or eBay and quickly purchased them. While I like the 11s and the 12s, the 10s are perfect for me!
Ha glad to see I’m not the only one! 😉
My son won’t run with me–he says I’m “too slow”. But I can run a lot farther than him—lol!
I’m mapping out the first part of 2017 too. I have big dreams!

Good point Wendy I can still out-distance my son! LOL!
Do I hoard shoes? check out my Runfession post LOL 😉 I agree…why do shoe companies mess with a good thing? I was head-over-heels in love with my Mizuno Wave Inspire 8’s…..and then they changed. I got some Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15’s last year…but the 16’s (this year) are just not quite the same. After my marathon, I may be in the market for some new options as well. ((sigh))

Sometimes I wish they would just offer new colors but leave the shoe designs alone!
I hate when there’s a change to a shoe model I like 🙁 I would be tempted to hoard too. And yep, I’m already mapping out races and training for next year 🙂

How fun Chaitali! Looking forward to hearing which races you’ll be running.
I definitely hoard shoes.
I’d look forward to my winter off season, except I’m already signed up for a half in March, so I’ll be training, heaven help. There will be a very short off season.
Vegas is a ton of fun! It’s not the race to expect a PR, so just have fun.
I know what you mean about a short off season – I’m seriously thinking of signing up for a half that’s held in mid February!
I got burned by shoe hoarding because the ones I stockpiled on sale were different and didn’t work. Ugh! Live and learn. Just have fun in Vegas. It’s dark. Nobody will see you if you slack. Haha!

Good point about it being dark! I like how you think Marcia 😉
I am definitely starting to plan my 2017 race calendar! I don’t have anything going on for the rest of the year so I need something to look forward to and keep me training through the winter.
Kelly @ Noodle to the Rescue recently posted…Five Random Thoughts
I definitely need a race hanging out there to help get me through the winter or I seriously start to slack off.
Isn’t the point of running a race with someone to stay with them:) I’m sure your son doesn’t look at it like that. He is probably at that age where he thinks he’s too cool to run with mom, right? Hope you two have a great race this weekend!

Oh yeah he’s 14 – definitely too cool 🙂
Haha…gym crazies! I could write a post per day on that topic, since I manage a gym I’ve seen some crazy stuff!!! PS I’ve stocked up on discontinued shoes too , makes perfect sense to me .
I don’t know what it is about being in a gym, but I swear it brings out the oddest behavior in people!
Yes, I think we need to hoard all of those old models of our running shoes because they just can’t leave a good thing alone!
I’ve started mapping out 2017 as well. The spring is filling up but I’ve got a big gap in April! I always enjoy winter running 🙂

Janelle I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve got planned post-marathon!
So funny. I totally hoard shoes once I find ones that I love. DO IT!
Annnnnnnnd I need a break from training but I’m also building my 2017 calendar. You’re not the only one. 🙂
Glad to hear I’m in good company!
You are going to love Vegas!! Heck yes I a still adding races for this year

Where are you planning to race? It would be fun to finally meet up!
I bought 3 pairs of the same 2015 make / model for marathon training. I want (need ?) to get a new pair but its getting late, and I think the 2017 will be out soon, so I just may wait.
I have not signed up, nor am I thinking about any 2017 races yet. I have been on a training schedule for almost a year, I need a break ! I just want to run.

I don’t blame you for not even thinking about a 2017 race – you have been training a long time. I’ll be cheering you on for NYC!
