Busy morning ahead, but before I get going I’m making a little time to join one of my favorite link-ups, The Ultimate Coffee Date. Thanks to Coco, Lynda and Deborah, as always, for hosting! Be sure to check out the link-up and see what the other ladies are dishing about.
Grab a mug and join the #UltimateCoffeeDate linkup Share on XIf we were having coffee together, I’d tell you that there is very little white space left on our kitchen calendar. We’re in the icy grip of hockey playoffs while outdoor practices for lacrosse begin in another week! Let’s just hope the right equipment bag makes it to the correct destination 🙂 Throw in some school activities, including my oldest son’s school play, and…yeah I’m thinking of cloning myself.
If we were having coffee together, I’d tell you that after hibernating through a good bit of last month (there’s just something about February!) I’m looking forward to having some fun catching up with friends this month! I’m making a point of it to have at least one night out/lunch/something with friends each week – finding time to slow down and connect is the perfect counterbalance to the calendar madness.
If we were having coffee together, I’d tell you that I’m also really looking forward to taking my mom to see the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for her birthday. The grace and power of these dancers is just simply amazing. If you ever have the chance them to see them perform, run don’t walk to get tickets!
If we were having coffee together, I’d tell you that I’ll be returning to a training plan this week as I get ready for Boston’s Run to Remember. For the past couple of years I’ve run the 5-mile option, but this year I’ll be running the half. Believe it or not, I have not run a half marathon since fall of 2013 – what?!
Yeah I’m looking forward to getting back to this distance, and what better way to do it than with one of my favorite races!
So what would you tell me over coffee?
What are you looking forward to this month?
Let the Spring sports crazy and school end activities begin!! Such fun right….ha!!
love love love Alvin Ailey…the dancer/dances are so beautiful!!!! Have fun!!
Good luck with training…you got this!!
I am looking forward to the Luna Chix retreat weekend in a few weeks and celebrating my 1yr blog anniversary 🙂 as well.
Thanks Tamieka I am looking forward to seeing double digits on the Garmin again 🙂 And congrats on your 1 year anniversary – I’m glad I’ve found your blog!
Alvin Alley IS definitely amazing.
I’m looking forward to a return to racing (winter is sparse in the race dept!) and of course my afternoon tea after a long run tomorrow.

Not many races in New England in these early months either – but I guess it gives me time to ease back into longer runs.
I hope that your training goes well. A half marathon might as well be a million miles for me so I really admire anyone who has the dedication to make it through. I am so looking forward to the weather starting to change. We haven’t even had a bad winter, but I really want to get outside!

Thanks Ali! Have a great weekend 🙂
The spring sports are crazy! How cool to see Alvin Ailey. That’ll be such a nice outing for the 2 of you. Seeing dancers reminds me how petrified my hamstrings are. Ugh.

Too funny about the hamstrings. I know I spend half the time amazed at what they do and the other half thinking “ouch!” LOL!
Oh yes, the kitchen calendar. Ours is filing up also. Already end of year activities and sports. I think the schools start loading everything up on us all at once after March. I am in the midst of trying to find my running mojo again and it is difficult. I miss it so much. I love running half marathons when I am focused and training. You will enjoy it. Thank you for the coffee this weekend my friend.

I think we all lose our mojo at one time or another. Hope you’re able to regain some of yours soon.
Good luck with your training!! I hear ya on the calendar getting filled!!!
Thanks Heather I’m really looking forward to starting again!
We have been having HS lax practice outside for weeks it’s been really cold for them. There is a reason that lax is a spring sport! I was freezing this morning watching the scrimmage. February is a blah time but I am hoping it warms up soon! Thanks for joining us for coffee today!

Wow I can’t believe they’ve been practicing outside already! I’m hoping by the time we hit the field in another week spring will finally make an appearance.
How exciting! A half marathon! I’m looking forward to one of those this month. My kids are older and can get themselves where they need to be. I miss those days of the busy calendar just a wee bit.

Great – which race are you doing?
Oh, I would love weekly girlfriend time. Even monthly seems hard to coordinate sometimes. Glad to hear about your running plans!

Weekly is definitely not easy but I’m trying – really feeling the need to re-connect.
LOVE the Boston Run to Remember!! so close to my PR half. Good luck with your training. And I’ve been dying to see an Alvin Ailey show – hope you enjoy it!

Thanks Mar! It really is my favorite race – cannot wait to run it again!
I saw the Alvin Ailey dance company a few years ago and they were AMAZING. I hope you have a great time at the show! It’s hard to believe that it’s been so long since you’ve run a half, I look forward to hearing how this one goes!

I know 2 years – crazy right?! Can’t wait to run one again!
My calendar alone is booked I can’t imagine having to see to my kids activities as well. They are older and not involved in as much and if they are they can get their self there! That makes a huge difference! What training plan are you using for your Boston Half?
Tricia@MissSippiPiddlin.com recently posted…RnRNOLA Recap
I’ll be following a Higdon plan with some tweaks here and there.
Exciting that you will be running another half. Its fun to have something like that to look forward to.
I would love to see the dance production. I have bought tickets for the ballet for June and haven’t been in probably 6 or 7 years. Too excited !
The ballet sounds wonderful – I love attending these kinds of events, and need to make more time to get to them!
