I’ve really been enjoying Deb’s #WednesdayWord posts, so I thought this week I’d join in.
Right now challenging to me means…
… not being able to run as far as I’d like
…. letting go of “should haves” and accepting what is
…. getting creative to keep both body and mind fit
…. finding the lesson in each moment
…. pushing beyond my limits
…. always looking for new ways to test my abilities
What does “challenging” mean to you?
here it means making me stretch and strain – – but not break.

Oooh, letting go of “shoulds” is tough but important!

You hit on every single thing that I find challenging right now! Especially the letting go of the “should haves”

Isn’t it interesting how many of us can relate to letting go of the “should haves?” We can really be our own worst critics sometimes.
Love the “letting go of should haves” – that is a neverending challenge for me. It’s a fine line between dreaming big of what we want vs being satisfied with what we have. The comparison trap is so tough!

It is a fine line, isn’t it?!
I love the one about getting creative when you’re limited by injury. That has been one of my biggest life lessons since I’ve been running. There’s always a silver lining, whether or not we choose to see it.

You’re so right Marcia about choosing to see the silver lining. I have to look for an upside!
ah, I love these word posts. To me right now challenging means getting my running mojo back! it’s been lost all spring but due to other factors I’m sure.

Challenging is to both the mind and the body and sometimes the mind is the biggest challenge. Letting go of the should haves is probably the toughest thing for me as I get older, accepting what is, is tough because of all the things that you believe you should have, could have or simply did not do, passes you by and there is no going back to do many of them. Great post MIchelle.

Thanks Harold – trying not to get too much into my head, and in turn, in my own way is a big challenge for me right now.
Those are great examples. #2 can be particularly difficult.

OMG did you read my post. Yes, this week is challenging. haha. And i think it’s more difficult to let myself not get to upset over it. a challenge in itself. p.s I so get the running part too.
Ha I did read it! Hope the week’s getting better for you 🙂
Not running as far or as often as I would like is challenging for me too!

It means having a goal to pursue that will make me a different person when I’ve accomplished it. The best challenge is one where you find something new about yourself during or after it.
I so agree!
Challenging means pushing myself out of my comfort zone!
