April Runfessions

I feel like I say this at the end of every month, but seriously, where did April go!? Well, it’s the last Friday of the month so I’m linking up with Marcia again for another edition of Runfessions. Join us!

Runfession #1 – While I appreciate having the flexibility of running midday (thanks to working from home), I am clearly an early morning runner. As I returned to early morning runs this month, I really find I’m just much more settled during the rest of my day.

Runfession #2 — I cut both of my runs short this week thanks to some discomfort in my left knee. Truthfully, something didn’t feel good about half way through the BAA 5K and the knee hasn’t felt great ever since.

Runfession #3 — There are 44 days until the Newport 10 miler and I am not where I want to be…sigh.

Runfession #4 — On the good side, I’m still rocking the plank challenge and my strength days at the gym are my favorite days of the week!

So tell me, what’s your Runfession? What’s your preferred time of day to run?

  1. I’m doing exactly the same thing: Lots of midday runs but I feel SO much better when I get them in earlier. I hope your knee behaves! Just do what you can with your 10, you may surprise yourself.

  2. I am totally with you on time of day for runs. I could go mid-day but early morning will always work best for me. Hope you knee behaves itself!

  3. I work in an office all day and come 5pm I’m itching to get outside and moving. This is when I run or bike or whatever. I know in another month It’ll be in the upper 90’s but I’ll still be out there !

  4. I am definitely a morning runner. I missed my run Wed morning and planned to go running at lunch…(yeah about that). Way to go on the plank challenge and strength training!

  5. I’m a predawn runner. Congrats on the strength training and plank challenge. My elbow has been bothering me (I had a painful steroid shot earlier this month) so I am really lacking in this department. Enjoy your weekend!

  6. I know some people focus better after a break, but I have a hard time refocusing once I stop working.

  10. Glad you’re rocking the core challenge. I got a Fitbit last week so I’ve been taking the long route everywhere to get those extra steps in 🙂

  11. I prefer running in the mornings but sometimes it doesn’t pan out and have to run in the afternoons. I hope your knee is ok. Way to go with your plank challenge and strength training!

  12. Hope your knee feels better.

I prefer morning runs, but have to leave for work by 6:30 and just cannot force myself to get up at 4something on workdays.
