It’s the first Saturday of the month so it’s time once again for the Ultimate Coffee Date! This morning I’m happy to be linking up with Coco, Lynda and Deborah. This is always one of my favorite link-ups – it’s a great time to catch up, so grab a mug and pull up a chair!
If we were having coffee together, I’d tell you that I’ve started working out with a trainer. I had my first session yesterday and it was a killer…but in a good way! She’s created a great plan for me to help strengthen my trouble zones and correct the imbalance between my left and right sides. Hopefully working with Stacey, combined with the work I’m doing on my own, will put me in good shape come spring.
If we were having coffee together, I’d tell you that I’ve been thinking a lot about which races I want to do next year. I’ve made no secret of my love of the 10-miler, so I’m going try to run more of them in 2015. There are three races in the area and I’ve decided to throw my hat into the Cherry Blossom lottery. I will definitely take on a half marathon or two, but I’m leaning towards holding off until the fall.
If we were having coffee together, I’d tell you we’re starting Christmas cookie baking in our house this weekend. Pecan balls, peanutbutter blossoms, rum balls, coffee-cashew biscotti and the classic sugar cookie are some of our faves. But, I’m itching to try something new – do you have a favorite?
If we were having coffee together, I’d tell you that I just got tickets for J, the boys and I to see the Nutcracker over the school break. I took my oldest son a couple of years ago and we had so much fun. I’m really looking forward to all of us going!
If we were having coffee together, what would you tell me? Any good cookie recipes to share?
So glad that you were able to join us for coffee today-I love our get togethers. I have entered into the CB too so maybe we can finally meet in person. If you know of any others let me know-also one of my favorite distances to run

Fingers-crossed the CB lottery gods are good to both of us 😉
All those cookie creations sound so delicious! White chocolate peppermint cookies are probably my favorite at this time of year. :]
If you’re a fan of coconut, I’d put in a plug for Coconut Cookie Dough Balls! They’re no-bake and super simple to make! :]

I’m glad you threw you hat in for CB! I love 10 milers as well and am bummed we won’t be in town for the Soldier FIeld 10 over Memorial Day weekend. Yum, cookies! I love to bake but doubt I’ll do too much. How awesome about the trainer!

Good luck tomorrow! Can’t wait to hear how it goes.
I REALLY hope you get into Cherry Blossom because then we would get to have coffee in person!! I’m going to do some baking next weekend – ginger spice cookies, eggnog spritz cookies, and gingerbread cut-out. I’ll make the PB blossoms when my son is home from school.

Mmm Christmas cookies are THE best! I need to get some ideas together for when I go to Nebraska for the holidays! I’m trying to sign up for Cherry Blossom too! So glad you’re working with a trainer, I’m sure you’ll be in great shape for the spring!

Good luck with Cherry Blossom!!
Good luck with the CB lottery! I was disappointed to see it’s the same weekend I’ll be in Paris! I’m so jealous of you going to the Nutcracker…pretty sure the only chance of me going to see that in a house of boys is by myself!

Sue I was so happy when my boys said they wanted to go, but the biggest surprise really was my husband 😉
Ok, if we both get into Cherry Blossom we are finally meeting! I think most folks do get in, at least anecdotally from my friends and my experience. Love that race!

Absolutely Amanda! Keeping my fingers-crossed we both make it in!
Good luck with the trainer!! That’s such a great thing to do. Good luck getting into the race as well! I always see Coco’s pictures and am envious of the scenery. Great to meet you.
