Happy Monday all!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It was a great Mother’s Day weekend here – I got to play in my garden, have lots of family time and enjoy the best (so far) weather weekend of the spring! Β All good stuff!
Yes there was also some running that can only be described as u-g-l-y! My long run was suppose to include 4 miles at race pace, but my legs just couldn’t get there despite how much I tried to will them (or when they did get there I couldn’t hold on). Disappointing for sure. While I have had some great speed work sessions on the track these last couple of weeks, I have yet to have that speed translate into longer runs. Clearly I still have more work to do here. But it’s a new week and so I’ll go after it again.
How was your weekend?
Are you facing any big challenges in your running right now?
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect! It was so nice. We finally got our flower beds done, too. Sorry about the bummer run, but we all have them. Just think – now it’s over with and you can kick butt on your next one!

That so is the right attitude Courtney! Glad you got a chance to get your flower beds done π
Glad you had a good Mother’s Day! You’ll have a great run next time!

Glad you had a good Mother’s Day too!
The weather has been fantastic! I love it. Bummer about the less than fantastic run. They seem to just throw everything off. We all have them. Just know that they never seem to happen in groups…I think the next run will be great!

Thankfully Angela you were right today’s run was a big improvement π
My run was leaden and miserable as well. Still exhausted from the Flying Pig extravaganza. Glad you got some garden play in–me too! : )

Sorry your last run was so good either. I’m thinking with all that Flying Pig activity your legs probably just need a little down time!
I am definitely facing some running challenges too. I am so behind on my half marathon training – it’s in 3 weeks and I am not at all ready. Ahhhh.
I’m sorry you’re facing challenges too! Could you run your half for fun and let go of any time goals?
I actually did a 6 mile “long” run this weekend. I was just plain t.i.r.e.d. I am not ready for the humidity that we’ve been having — I’ll blame that. π

It was crazy humid here too – caught me by surprise! Hope your next run’s better π
It is okay, stay positive! I am an elite, and I still have those days….in fact tuesday was one of those days, I could not even get one mile at my race pace….and it is this weekend! Your body will know what it is doing come race day π

Thanks Tina! Not that I wish bad runs on anyone, but knowing that someone at your level has those off days just helps to put it all in perspective π
My current running challenge is to get back at it after a long, cold winter, and a knee injury. Blah… I tell myself that the first few runs are the worst. All runners have bad days! Go go go! π

I think this winter really took a lot out of a lot of us! Hope your knee is on the mend!
