Because I’m always looking to mix it up a little and keep things interesting, meet the newest addition to my workouts:
Starting today I’m going to give Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 for the next 30 days. The DVD is comprised of four 24-minute workouts based on Jillian Michaels’ 3-2-1 interval system: 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abs. Each routine progresses in difficulty over a four-week period (a new workout each week), and Michaels promises there are no repeats from week to week.
I’ll let you know how it goes!
Have you ever used a workout DVD?
I actually have that exact DVD. It is a definite workout. But I didn’t last the span of time. I would get so sore that it was hard for me to run when I was doing it. So, I chose running over being achy and sore all over. I know, excuses. I hope to do it again after the baby is out.
I’ve heard all good things about it! My workout room TV is not working, ergo no DVDs for me.
Yes, Jillian’s “30 Day Shred” videos were my first steps into working out! Since then, I’ve joined a gym and started running and really gotten into fitness, but DVDs are a great option for an at-home workout when you either can’t get out of the house or need to squeeze something in limited time. I love Jillian’s videos; you really get your bang for your buck. I also enjoyed Chris Freytag’s “Walking Cardio Shapeup” for a while, and now I enjoy doing yoga videos at home for a good stretch.
I tried one of the workouts (I think it was week 1) from the Ripped in 30 program and I really, really liked it! I think eventually I’m going to break down and buy it.
I love that DVD. Or, more accurately, I love Jillian. I have a bunch of her DVDs and that is the one she recommends most often. I also like her yoga meltdown.
That sounds like a great one, especially for the time-crunched running mama category! Let us know how it goes.
I have the exact same DVD and it kicks my booty! Great workout!!
I don’t have this one, but I also have heard good things about it. I like my Bob Harper Pure Burn Super Strength DVD, but it is a full 65 minutes.
Could be some great cross training for running. Cannot wait to read your review at the end of the 30 days!
Jillian Michaels scares the crap out of me. Have to imagine her videos are effective if they’re anything like her time on Biggest Loser. Stopped watching that show when she left. Have to think this will be a great cross-training option for you.
I’m really interested to see what you think about this. I’ve got a couple of Jillian DVD’s I have yet to try.
