I needed this little reminder this weekend during my long run.
Why is it sometimes so easy to self-sabotage, instead of being your own best cheerleader? Well this week that little voice can put a sock in it!
On the decks for this week:
Monday — Easy run (4) plus strength training
Tuesday — Tempo run (6)
Wednesday — TRX Rip trainer
Thursday — Hill work (5)
Friday — Yoga
Saturday — Long run (12) with middle 4 @ race pace
How do you combat that negative voice?
What do you have planned for this week?
I dont listen to the negative voices..they have no volume or place!
this week…yoga, bike, run, kettlebell and who knows what else 🙂
What a nice training week you had there–lots of quality miles.
I get that voice. I try to remind myself when it creeps in of good miles that I have had and to believe in myself.
I hear enough negative voices outside my head on a daily basis, so the one in my head tries like crazy to stay positive.
I hate that negative voice in my head. I try not to listen to her, but sometimes she’s so darn LOUD!
You had a great week!
I hate when that negative voice pipes in! Great job telling it to shut it!!
You got that right! Love the quote!
I made a bracelet with the mantra: “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you are right. Believe in yourself!”. I totally believe, at least 60% of running is mentally and a positive attitude can turn around any run.
I delight in proving that negative voice wrong on a regular basis. Still doesn’t stop it from piping up every now and then …
That negative voice? It’s called Monday sickness aka procrastination all throughout the week. We’ve all had those days and yes, it’s easy to do self-sabotage especially if you decide to give in to that voice. But, I guess it’s kind of a challenge and when you decide to shut that voice up, then you’re on the winning side!
Run and run until we drown that annoying voice away!
