Some Runfessions for March

How is it the last Friday of the month already?! Marcia has opened the runfessional, and it’s also time for another Fit Five Friday hosted by DarleneReneeJennZenaida, and yours truly, so let’s get started.

Some Runfessions for March

I had my post-op appointment with my surgeon yesterday and I runfess that going into it I was more than a little nervous. Eventhough I’ve been feeling pretty good for the most part, going through a major surgery like this has made me a tad paranoid. Happily, the appointment went off without a hitch.

I runfess that I’m so over this weather and ready for Spring! March kinda gave up on the “in like a lamb out like a lion” routine in favor of lion-mode for most of the month. This is one of the windiest months I can remember and as someone trying to rebuild my walking mileage, I could really do without the extra challenge of wind resistance!

I runfess that I’m about ready to throw in the towel on Instagram. I’m really not sure what’s up with the algorithm but I seem to be seeing fewer and fewer posts from people I’m actually following. I feel like I’m seeing more ads (of the same products, over and over) or random people IG suggests I follow…so annoying…

Has your IG feed gone rogue? Any runfessions to share?

  1. I think it’s “in like a lion, out like a lamb” – lol! Very windy here, too!

It’s not only you – I get a lot of ads and junk posts and have to seek out the people I want to see!

  2. While Insta is my favorite social media channel, there IS a lot of junk on there that I’m not seeking. The ads are really annoying; ditto for all the peeps who I don’t know, LOL. And the wind! It has been worse than ever before! I had 16mph winds on my walk this morning, and that’s with a 15-pound weighted vest. It was a beast of a workout!

  3. That’s awesome that your surgery went well.

And yes. Wind has been so crazy this year.

  4. It’s great to hear that you’re doing well post surgery!

I’m with you on the Instagram algorithm. I’m so tired of seeing ads and account suggestions. I want to see what my friends are doing.

  5. We are finally having “lanb” weather this weekend — at least warm temps.

Insta is a cluster. If I see one post from a friend I see 10 in a row from the same person!

I am so glad that your recovery is going well. Baby steps and patience will get you where you want to be. March is always very windy and the temps are all over the place. You never know until you wake up! IG is super annoying I’ve been trying so hard the last year and no growth at all. I’m just stuck

  7. You are doing amazing with your recovery.

Unfortunately, I find all of social media gives what you put into it and it sucks. If I am not totally engaged for a day or two I feel like I have to start all over. It’s annoying.

    • I think you are right about the engagement – I’ve definitely slowed my time on social and it’s probably not helping with an already confusing algorithm.

  8. I think they ruined the algorithms on both Insta and Facebook. I don’t see anything from my friends. Sigh. What’s the point? It’s been crazy windy here as well and I am over it. I wanna get out in the garden and it’s just still too early.
